Re: Remo drums

Checked the link (1 & 1/2 years later).

They are making Gold Crown and Mondo snares - no kits.

The Mondos look kind of interesting. Watched a youtube demo of it.
Don't know if I'd put down...

Re: Was I sold a bad snare?

6 or 7 years ago, the US was in the beginning of the worst economic crash since the great depression.

There's a used, pitted Supra available locally right now for $149.95
It's been sitting for a...

Re: How many drum kits have you owned?

I honestly don't know.

Not as many as some people here though. And more than some.

Re: Shallow toms - 20x16" Bass 8 10 12 14FT - Advice

Congrats - I'm sure you'll enjoy them.

Makes sense that you'd stick with Mapex, seeing as that's what you have now.
Did they give you a time frame on the wait?

Re: Drum Machine

A drum machine will sound less realistic than you playing your e-kit.

Most drum machine grooves are rigidly quantized, and while you can fudge it a little,
there won't be the nuances that...

Re: 10 lug bowties on a Supra?

Could be an LM300 or a Rocker.

Differences were discussed here, when I got one a few years ago.
No longer around.

Re: Mind bender - 80's Superstar or 90's Masters??

Those dilemmas are difficult.

From the above quote, it sounds like a rational/emotional decision.

The Pearls are newer, and have a higher retail value, (rational),
and the Tamas are...

Re: Yamaha Drums

What kind of stuff will you be selling? I'd clear out some stuff for that nice looking set too - ha ha.
Has anyone in the US bought any of your stuff, or do you try to keep it local?

Re: One or two mids toms?

I've mentioned this before, but with 2 up,
I can play my ride with my elbow resting comfortably on the side of my body,
without having to reach at all.
Maybe it's due to the smaller size toms (10...

Re: Mind bender - 80's Superstar or 90's Masters??

Before you get some serious answers about your question -
I was just wondering if you've considered having your current set shipped to you?

I don't know much about the sets in question - sorry...

Re: One or two mids toms?

One tom does look way cooler.
It just doesn't work as well for me.

Re: One or two mids toms?

When you get heads, most call that 'New Fusion'.
'Fusion' is 10,12,14, from what I've seen.

Re: One or two mids toms?

2 up, 1 down - preferred.

But any drums would do in a pinch.

Re: New Drums

I think it's possible that the PDP could be the last kit you'd ever have to buy.

But it might not be the last kit you'd want to buy.

You'd probably have that DW kit sitting in the back of your...

Re: Let down by a drummer with chops but no ability

Ha ha - yep.

Still get a chuckle out of it starting at 2:20 or so.

But ya - two different skill sets.

Re: 5.5" Bell bronze

I'm wondering about how heavy these snares are?

Not having heard one, in previous discussions about bronze snares,
I always imagined them as having a somewhat cymbal-like ring.
I really like...

Re: Intersting article on Beats Headphones

I use Sony MDR 7506 too. Unless you have 'golden ears', spending more is overkill.

They can get a little uncomfortable with extended use though - like a few hours or so.
Gotta' take a break - ha...

Re: 18" bass drum for rock!

If you use mics on your drums, all bets are off.

Depending on your amp/speaker setup, you could make ears bleed with any size bass drum.

Re: Tribal brand drums?

Doesn't matter if it was a good deal or not - you've already bought them.

Now it's time to play and enjoy them and forget about what they cost.

Re: HELP! I need a good inexpensive snare fast!

1) Don't get the Acrolite. You have pre-judged it, and already decided you won't like it.

2) I'm a big fan of Yamaha drums, but I haven't heard one of their steel snares that really does it for...

Re: TAMA Superstar Hyperdrive, Maple (2015) vs YAMAHA Stage customs, birch (2014)

I did - here: http://www.drummerworld.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1356403&postcount=27

Someone would have to actually click the link and look at it to see the sets listed though.
