Re: Are DW drums still cool?

Re: Does adding this Tom make sense?

Discontinued 'might' still be able to be ordered. Is it a wrap, or lacquer?

I've ordered discontinued lacquer finishes from GRETSCH bf, you'll pay and wait. If one is doing this with a fade, or...

Re: Paiste ownership decimated for now :(

I love the sound of good PAISTE cymbals, but not for more than 2 gigs, then its back to ZILDJIAN.

Re: The needless debate over drum construction and the misguided search for undo drum resonance

Depends on who does the polishing apparently, and depends on what you feed the chicken...

Re: The needless debate over drum construction and the misguided search for undo drum resonance

Ok, lets take the 'other' drummer out of the equation. You, you sit behind a kit, play it and it sounds whatever. Now you change sticks, from wood tip to nylon, the kit sounds different, now change...

Re: The needless debate over drum construction and the misguided search for undo drum resonance

Thank's for the acknowledgment!

What also might not be understood here, is that I reply to the comment, not the commenter. We're all here to learn.

So for all who still haven't gotten it,...

Re: The needless debate over drum construction and the misguided search for undo drum resonance

Let me word it in a way you may be able to understand- You're putting the player above the instrument, which is pointless to the discussion which was originally about gear not making a difference. ...

Re: The needless debate over drum construction and the misguided search for undo drum resonance

A crap drummer 'can' indeed make a hi end drum kit sound like a hi end drum kit. A hi end drum kit will always be a hi end drum kit, no matter who plays it. You're confusing the player with the...

Re: The needless debate over drum construction and the misguided search for undo drum resonance

You're posting as a spectator, someone in the audience, which is almost pointless, other than for a not so important talking point really. Like someone at a NASCAR race saying it doesn't matter what...

Re: The needless debate over drum construction and the misguided search for undo drum resonance

Ahh yes, but the drums we 'prefer', the drums that get us off, those are the magic drums. I can make any drum kit sound good... but who cares?

Given a choice I don't want to play just any drum...

Re: The needless debate over drum construction and the misguided search for undo drum resonance

So as the drummer goes, so goes the equipment the drummer plays with.

I've...

Not completely anyways, in the days of yore, yes you were. There are definitely audible differences between good cheap, and really good expensive, the question is are they practical.

Re: Gretsch USA Custom 14x6.5 Cast Aluminum

And did you count the number of knurl marks on the center bead? I hear its good luck if...
