if you want to become the best you can be, then read music...one cant learn everything from watching one drummer..its so easy to read, why not read? reading opens up a lot of doors, not just studio...

warm up should obviously be done with close attention to proper technique and timing. I take around 20 min to 1/2 hr to warm up, gradually pushing the envelope, seeing what i can get away with...

sometimes, i combine meters. like say if a 5/4 was back to back with a 7/4. i would combine them to make 12/4. also, say something is in 5/4. after playing five measures of 4/4, you will be on time...
