Re: NEED NEW DRUMS...SUGGESTIONS?

Im going to have to agree with you. Go to Vic's and check out some kits. They will pull any of the kits off the wall and set them up for you to play.

Definitely call Vic's. If they cant help you they can point you in the right direction. Vic is a great guy. I know of one other place that backlines for concerts and rents out equipment....

Re: Am I the only one who doesn't like Pearl?

I've never owned a Pearl kit so I really cant say one way or the other. I did have a set of Powershifter double pedals that fell apart on me after about a year and a half of use. I'm pretty hard on...

Re: Question for Chicago/West Suburb Drummers

I live in Chicago....just north of downtown. Unfortunately, most of the open mic nights that I go to aren't drummer friendly. My local bar lets me pull the e-kit out every once in awhile. I usually...

Re: 8" or 13" toms for add ons?

I say go with the 8in. A lot of people hate on 8in toms. I love them. Both of my kits right now are 8,10,12,14,16.

Re: Yamaha oak custom vs Pearl Session Studio Classic

I say go with the Oaks and order an add on tom. I just ordered an 8in add on for my Oaks and it was here in a little over a month.

Re: Thinking about triggering my kick

You really don't need much more to trigger besides a small module to plug into. When I trigger live all I have to bring is the trigger, module, and 2 instrument cables. It all fits in a small bag.

Re: I am not sure which kit to get...

I would also go with the stage customs ( I might be a little biased). They are a great set of drums for the price. And I love Yamaha hardware.

Re: Thinking about triggering my kick

I do agree that if the OP is just trying to hear his bass drum when he practices that a mic would be easier and a little less expensive.
