Re: How Do I Upload Pic From My Computer Here?

I've also used the attachment option, the 'paperclip' in the message window. You have to resize your pic below 1000 x 1000.

Re: which Pearl snare is this

Ya you're right, good eye. The R does stand out, its almost never that big on any kind of badge.
Could somebody really be making fake Pearl badges to put on no-name entry level steel drums .....to...

Re: which Pearl snare is this

I had a 10 lug Pearl steel snare with the identical badge, but a heavy duty parallel strainer. Was a nice loud drum.

Re: The curious case of Thomas Pridgen

I don't follow him in detail but always thought he made a living mostly as a 'clinician', in a vein to Benny Greb or Jojo Mayer. Also, not everybody is out to work with majors and headliners.

Re: Under Rated or Fairly Unknown Drummers

VERY much revered, and they remain just as known as Benny. Most of Motown post - 1969 was all Uriel and Pistol. Marvin Gaye's 'What Going On', some of the heavier early 70's Temptations stuff for...

Re: How Much Better is Yamaha Tour Cust vs Absolute Hybrid???

Great. I wish every drum kit comparison video were done this way.Personally, I'd pick Tour Custom and have $1500 to spend on nice hardware and cymbals.

Re: Drum Identification

Your pic does not show. Re-size to smaller, save and upload as 'Image'. If you can take a pic of any of the badges on the drums.

Re: Struggles of Short Drummer and 5-Piece with Offset Toms

If you look at Tamefx's setup he has offset toms, BUT everything is tight because his tom level is sitting higher than yours, and more tilt, thats why he could tighten them in. His far tom is...

Re: quality of drum sounds to the rest of the band is not important

Its true somewhat, but not unfair. Others can dial a volume, and our dial is our hands. One can simply inform a band they cannot expect as much at such low volume.
Its actually quite a cool...

Re: Another Benny Benjamin sighting?

I get deep into YT sometimes, am big into bootleg concerts at the moment. If they had YT when I was a kid no chance ANY homework would ever be done.

Re: Struggles of Short Drummer and 5-Piece with Offset Toms

Wow, nice kit and cymbals. That looks ergonomic but tight, almost nothing going on in the right side. If you finished a fill at the floor tom there is no crash there. Your snare stand feet could...

Re: New drummer needs help!

Strange, in one of your other previous posts you state:
"I tried learning guitar for the past 30 years and got absolutely nowhere."
Perhaps with 'the just do it' philosophy one can see why. ...

I log on at least once a day and don't encounter much if any spam on here. Clearly the hunters are getting their prey.
Kudos to mods for their great job on this.

Re: Bass drum set up help

the snare just sits in its 'basket...or brackets as you call them. the brackets or basket do not have to be tight on the drum.
you can tilt the snare to whatever angle is comfortable, but...

Re: Returning Drummer Aches.

It sounds like you are out of shape, not grossly, but in using the muscles now that you have not used. Everything needs to be stretched out and worked more.
And yes, by all means make getting a...

Re: About to buy a Gretsch Catalina Club kit...

Good idea to replace stock heads but fiberskyns will have no less volume or reverb. Volume is how hard you hit, and reverb somewhat depends on the room you play in. I'd suggest just basic 1 or 2 ply...

Re: Hey Joe: Great drumming or overplaying?

Well Mitchell wasn't setup for Jimi, he chose him....at the flip of a coin, over Aynsley Dunbar. They both auditioned. Just think how different THAT would have been.

Your point is well taken, but...

Re: Hey Joe: Great drumming or overplaying?

When I think of Mitch Mitchell I think of his playing on this (as well as Manic Depression). This song is totally who Mitch Mitchell is. In this regard I bet nobody else can play it this way.
