Re: Bo's last name

Yep about 13-15 minutes as I recollect. I like to play it on bass drum and hi hat with each foot-that and William Tell Overture. Great warm up exercise.

Re: Bo's last name

Bo Derek-now it all becomes clear it is just a reference to his real name "Arthur" like the movie. That's a great name. I'm in hopes this offense will put me on Bo's list-since I've been banned from...

Re: How do YOU Tune?

What's funny to me is I never thought I was ever really "tuning" a drum. More just trying to make them sound good. Keep fiddling and fine tuning-bam even a blind squirrel finds a nut. Now with all...

Re: Advice on value of monster vintage Pearl kit

That's a nice kit and I think you can get a good price-Pearl keeps making Exports for a reason. So 70s might qualify as "vintage" too???

Re: Annoying buzz in snare drum

Good call-should have been first thing to do-it may need centering or some snare or some faulty wires. Some wires seem to work better with string and other work better with plastic on my snares-I...

Re: Old age creeps up.

I already live in pain from all my other daring feats of youth LOL. I was just kidding I'm afraid of heights now-I still get positional vertigo sending me flying all over the place anyways. I can't...

Re: Annoying buzz in snare drum

Yep sympathetic buzz is a problem I was having and finally got rid of it-then recording I noted a buzz in my snare when I hit it. A note then a resonance buzz for a millisecond. You can detune lugs...

Re: Old age creeps up.

I fought aging but now embrace it-as long as I'm growing old I'm at least not dead. Silver lining ;) In fact I'm taking up daring feats with high risk so I can beat dying of age related factors. See...

Re: Old age creeps up.

This is a timely thread. Get up make coffee, turn on news to channel surf to see if ignoring all the opinion I can filter out some news LOL. Suddenly I'm hearing this noise-I'm like hmmm. Even with...

Re: Time away from kit

I would go through withdrawals and die. The last 24 years I've never been away more than a week or so. The last 55 years I've owned only two practice pads-threw away first and gave away the second-I...

Re: Feeling Faint During Shows

Gosh reminds me of Summer football camp-hundred degree heat so they give us bags of salt pills we ate like candy-even during school year we'd throw them across the class room trying to hit each other...

Re: Bo's last name

That is an awesome name. I would love it when they call roll in class -you could milk as deity or monarchial sense. There was only one other "Arthur" in my home town and it hasn't been a popular name...

Re: Bo's last name

Wait a minute GetAgrippa is just my moniker not my name. So Bo is likely the same and his real name is "Jed I. Knight". I wanted my grand baby to be called Deathstar if a boy. No one liked my...

ROFL "was it my tapping"-"no it was the Zildjian T-shirt" priceless. At least it wasn't from a pair of sticks in your back pocket you forgot about. I spend most of my time now checking to see if my...

Re: Bo's last name

I thought "Bo" his abbreviated middle name. So Mathew Bowen Eder? I share a common give up pronouncing my last name since 90% people do. Why bother.

The only other Eder's I've known it was a German name-but I don't think so. The Urban dictionary nails him. "Eder

Re: Pre-planned drum fills??

Or it could be they're just an idiot and lack good musical taste and no ego evolved :) Maybe a little of both? I agree with you Larry and I find "fills" just not that necessary in some music.

Re: Pre-planned drum fills??

I guess there are some signature fills that are so part of a song that if you don't play people will think it's heresy. But I like to noodle around in practice with a song-all with the goal of...

Re: Maybe I'm done compensating for my height ;)

Re: Why is jazz drumming still so dominant?

Jazz has contributed to rock, metal, numerous genres-as it had contributions from various genres itself. Jazz cats with double bass-blazing bass patters and blasting decades ago. It's all fused...

Re: Maybe I'm done compensating for my height ;)

Why not just buy a 20 in bass to match one of the kits you have? If you can't find a match finish-buy used one of correct shell then wrap it-you can have one made to match. Here ya go a Pearl Decade...

Re: Weird Al and Bermuda

Thanks GruntersDad for posting and newoldie for context. Congrats Bermuda too-you should be proud and get written credit somewhere for your work-bad etiquette not when you do the work.
