Re: That Erskine kit at NAMM

I think the Superstars are about $800 cheaper, but they're all maple.

Re: Vintage stuff. Period.

The first thing I did to my 1988 Rockstar kit was change the bass drum Tom mounts to the older Omni-Sphere mounts that came with the older Superstar & Imperialstar lines. It's much better now.

Re: That Erskine kit at NAMM

Thanks for posting these pics, Matt. Looks like Peter is right there behind the kit with that angle. Love the color too. That's a fine set of drums there.

I tried out the new Superstars at GC...

Re: What's your latest purchase?

I got a pair of 14" New Beat hi hats for only $110. I don't really need them, but the deal was too good to pass up. This is my third set of hi hats. I'm curious to see if I like them better than my...

Re: Peter Erskine moves to Tama...

Stewart Copeland plays/played Tama. He isn't a metal dude.

Re: Peter Erskine moves to Tama...

Because those drums sound freakin' amazing. Disregarding a Guru Custom In-Tense, that would be the ultimate kit for me too. He just wants to play the ultimate drum kit. Can you blame him?

Re: Another "first audition" thread

It's important to be comfortable as much as possible when playing an audition. I learned this the hard way. Congratulations on your new gig. Hope it works out well for you.

Re: Funnest Gig you've ever played?

I played a block party with my band about 4 years in a row for the 4th of July. There were fireworks going off all around while we were playing. Some were legal fireworks, some were illegal...

Re: That Tama Rockstar snare for 50 bucks

They worked wonders on my concert toms. Much better now. I almost want to get one of these snare drums myself to go with my Rockstar drum set. I already have 3 snare drums though and 2 hardly ever...

Re: That Tama Rockstar snare for 50 bucks

G14's are the perfect head for cheaper drums too. That, or the HD Dry.

Re: Video clip - popcorn snare / Tour series kit

True, it would serve a more dynamic range drum kit like the In-Tense, since it is a dynamic drum.

Now you have to find songs that will give you an excuse to use it. Like this one from Incubus:...

Re: Beginner and older...

I know, it sort of makes you wonder, huh? His 3rd and last post was on March 5 of last year. Is he a drummer still? Is he not? The suspense is killing me!

We may never know. And that sucks, man.

Re: First "new" equipment purchase in years!!

Nice purchase for sure. The pointed B/O badge tells me it's mid-70's model.

Re: The official, "Your services are no longer required" thread

So you're still working at Wally World as an Audio tech, but just not doing the Mouse gig anymore? That sucks, sorry to hear that, Bo.

Maybe you can start a YouTube channel gig, dress up like a...

Re: Playing with people standing behind you

All the time.

This is always happening at my Garage Band practice. It's like the same feeling as when the recording "red light" is turned on. After awhile of doing it, you kind of get used to it...

Re: Acoustic vs electronic drums: are they catching up?

That makes me sad. I have such a deep love for my cymbals that I almost get separation anxiety just thinking about selling them or losing them somehow.

As for electronic drums, I can't wait to...

Re: Recycling popcorn

That's a nice little snare you got there. A one of a kind. Can't wait to hear it. I only use a side snare for a couple reggae songs and covers like Sympathy for the Devil. That thing I use is a metal...

Re: Sold my stage customs, looking for mid range maple kit

Even better. I'm a little color blind and the screen is small.

Yeah, better to keep that Saturn at home for woodsheding.

Re: Sold my stage customs, looking for mid range maple kit

Black matte is a nice color (colour). May as well stick with what you know. So these are birch. Thought you wanted maple. That just nullifies the whole point of this thread. (jk)
