Re: Danny Carey
That T Bartles guy certainly has it nailed down. It takes some patience to sit and learn those tool songs the whole way through. Great job!

Re: Brian Downey
One of the most criminally underrated rock drummers. Listen to live and dangerous and remind yourself of how solid yet fluid he was. (The drums are the only thing with no overdubs on the album). He...

Re: tell me who is the best metal drummer!
Gene Hoglin or Sean Reinert (Death)
I've said it before, these guys make Danney Carrey (who is AWESOME) sound like Meg White. They are as fast, brutal and amazingly technical as a human being can...

Re: tell me who is the best metal drummer!
It still amazes me that Brann Dailor from mastadon gets so little press on this site. My favorite metal drummers would be:
Brann Dailor
Thomas Haake
Danny Carey
Igor Cavelera
Vinnie Paul
Also...

Re: brian downey
I made a wishlist request for Brian Downey as he wasn't even on it for while! Cheers to Bernhard for putting him on the wishlist. I can't understand why he is so under rated I think he is great....

Re: Ian Paice
I think he plays singles but its hard to tell with him. He has such great technique, his doubles often sound tight enough to be singles.
Some of his fills are insanely fast but he plays them with...

Re: Matt Cameron
One of my personal all time favorites. I think John Tempesta (White Zombie, Helmet) called him the Steve Gadd of the heavy rock world. This sums it up for me, inventive beats/fills, super solid...

Re: Dave Abbruzzese
I think that Vs. is one of the best rock drumming albums of the nineties. Ten has the more radio friendly hits but vs. is more about the drums and bass than ten IMO. Anyone seen Pearl Jam unplugged?...

Re: Dave Grohl
Personally I think Dave Grohl is vastly under rated by many drummers due to the simplicity of his playing with Nirvana. To me it just shows he didn't feel the need to show off.
But if you go back a...

Re: brann dailor
It is also interesting that along with some of the prog guys like phil collins and bill bruford he cites his main influences to be elvin jones and stevie wonder. It definitely shows in his feel and...

Re: Josh Freese!!
Did any one read the modern drummer article where he said he bust his right knee just before a gig with APC. He decided to get 3 different sets of high hats ( open, partially open and closed) and...

Brann Dailor
Just started using the forum (although i have been reading with interest for a few months). I love loads of the drummers that have already been mentioned in this forum. Danny Carey, Bonham, John...
