Re: Damn foot doubles! ERR! Help me!

Well, it really depends. Apparently, there are fifty-bagillion ways of doing the "heel-toe" technique. There are tons of posts on this topic. My suggestion is to not limit yourself to one. Find which...

Re: Improving kick

The video looks like normal heel-up doubles...I'm not sure though. Watch some gospel drummers, it's amzing what they can achieve with normal heel-up.

The constant stream of notes sort of just...

Re: Improving kick

The constant release (which is essentially push/pull with the feet) can produce cleaner doubles at high tempos than heel-toe, but for mid-tempos, normal heel-up is the way to go.

JiltedNut has a...

Re: IF SOMEONE KNOW HOW HE DOES IT! EXPLAIN HERE!

It looks like he's using the open/close, aka, push/pull technique with his hands (http://www.drummerworld.com/Drumclinic/Derrick_Pope2.html). I could be wrong...

It's hard to tell what he's doing...

Re: Thomas Lang - matched grip???

I was thinking the same thing. His playing doesn't look quite as fluent in matched as it does in traditional.

Re: Why does speed matter so much?

I'll second that, and I'll put further emphasis on it. Before I say anything else, I would like to say that you shouldn't let speed dictate the way you play FOR a song. Play what sounds best, whether...

Re: vruk pedal attachment discussion

I'll try to make the video ASAP, but don't expect it too soon. My brother lives near his college campus, so I'll have to get his camera from him next time I see him (I don't know when that'll be).

Re: vruk pedal attachment discussion

Sorry if this is off-topic, but ug...I'm so confused about what heel/toe actually is. For a while I thought that what I use is heel/toe, then I didn't, then I did, and now I don't again. Anyways, I...

Re: the HEEL TOE video has arrived

I think that you're missing the whole point of my post. In Derrick's video, he says that the heel is actually producing the stroke. He is apparently using a seesaw type motion that literally uses the...

Re: the HEEL TOE video has arrived

I'm a little bit confused about when you said that it can be done with any shoe size. It appears that if you are actually using the heel for the first stroke, then shoe size would matter. I wear a...

I can't find any in my local music stores, so I buy them on the internet. I suggest buying them on Amazon.com through a link on the artist's page on Drummerworld. I think Drummerworld gets a cut of...
