Yamaha Rock Tour 6x14 Mahogany Snare

Hey guys! I'm looking into purchasing the above snare, as I need a better snare than the crappy Pearl maple one I'm playing now. This one fits my price range, and seems decent, but im looking for...

Re: THE CLASSIFIEDS - For Sale / Wanted

Hey ya'll, I'm looking to purchase a decent snare for a reasonable price. I'd like it to be wood, 5-8" deep, and under $100 if that's reasonable. PM me :)

Re: How good are you at the standard 26 rudiments, and how has this your effected your drum set play

Being somebody who is just beginning to see the importance of and starting to learn rudiments, they can be very daunting and horribly boring. I'm glad to know that the hard work I intend to put in...

Otto: thanks for those links!

Talismanis: Like others have discussed here, it's all about tuning your reso heads differently.

Re: Newbie needing advice

Just throwing another option out there. it's cool that you had a kit gifted to you, but if noise is a huge worry you could buy an electronic kit too. That way you can play as loud as you want into...

Re: Your body knows what to do...?

I completely concur. Though I am not even a decent drummer (by my standards), my drumming is the cleanest and most creative when I'm not trying and just relaxed. When I start trying to get too fancy,...

Re: snare drum buzz

New heads & snares did nothing to help, so I've figured it was just because it is a cheap snare. I was going to lug out my big ole Tama Rockstar & swap my new goodies onto there, when I remembered I...

Re: shoes for double pedaling

I was waiting for someone to mention Vibrams...I'm looking to be ordering my first pair shortly...but for outdoor use, not drumming :D

On topic, I used Puma indoor soccer shoes when I started,...

Re: Is this weird?

no way, that's definitely not weird! I basically play for myself, except for the occasional jam session with a buddy. And while I wouldn't mind being in a little "hometown" band at some point, it's...

Re: snare drum buzz

Like I had originally stated, the buzz doesn't bother me. its that secondary noise that's driving me up a wall :D

But at any rate, I ordered different heads and a new set of puresounds, so I'll...

Re: snare drum buzz

Hey guys, I'm gonna revive this thread for some more info on snare rattle :)

I've got resonance from my toms too, but that doesn't bother me nearly as much the fact that my snare resonates a...

Circular hand motion....

I was breaking apart my fills today, and I noticed my left hand likes to strike my rack toms in a circular motion. It's fine on my snare (didn't check on my floor tom). Does anyone have any practices...

Re: Cutting Down Snare Wires

I can't give you an exact reason, other than that it works....cutting wires away from the outside doesn't affect the sound nearly as much as cutting out the middle ones.

Re: I NEED a Book or DVD (Rudiments, counting)

actually, I'm living proof that it is quite possible to teach one's self rudiments and be proficient at them. it just takes a higher level of self awareness since there isn't a teacher looking over...

Re: Man v/s Kit
