Very, very sorry for your loss.

I'm afraid this very difficult situation demonstrated to you some things about your bandmates. I don't know what words to use, but their behavior - and lack of...

Re: I need recommendations for a cheap set.

Sonor Safari - plus Wuhan New Trad cymbals. Might be the least expensive yet legit option currently on the market.

Re: 13" vs 14" Hats?

In all these years, I have never tried 13s. Always 14s. Hearing you guys describe them makes me want some 13 inch hats.

Re: Sonor Safari

You have been assimilated.

Give the snare a chance. I noted the cheesy throw off, too, at first but, with some attention the snare can do the job.

I have been beating the snot out of this...

Re: Playing a four piece

I play a 3 piece in a cover band.

There are no right or wrong answers on this. It all depends on the music.

For me personally, I play in a dance-oriented cover band. The last thing the people...

Re: Church Drum Sets

Regretfully, the words Drums and Church don't go together at my churches.

Anybody who can get behind a kit at church - God bless you. Enjoy.

I wouldn't be a big fan of the plexiglass stuff. ...

Re: Hitting a creative wall

The cure is:

- Occasional breaks from playing

- Listening to Tons of Different music

Don't get too disappointed out over it. We all go through this in cycles.

Now - go to Amazon MP3...

Re: Sonor Safari

I have been away a bit.

I thought I'd post an update on my snare explorations.

It tooks a bit, but - I found quite a sweet spot sound with the snare - for the music I'm currently playing...

Re: Fixing Plastic Sound of Bass Drum

Ok, I'll utter the blasphemy - take the reso out of the equation. Remove it, get something

If you're using a...

Re: Gretsch Catalina Maple - I thought they were better

Dennis - I agree with you. If I had a setup like that, I'm sure I'd purchase that way.
I just have never had access like that, so I rely on other ways.

Re: Gretsch Catalina Maple - I thought they were better

The Catalina kits are good kits - used by many in a variety of a situations.

I would never judge a kit sitting in a store. I don't think I have ever had a "wow - that sounds good" experience with...

Re: Sonor Safari or Bop Kit advice please

Only if you're willing to add a tom by another manufacturer. Sonor will not sell any others toms separately - at least not ones in these lines that would match the wrap exactly.
I wrote to them...

Re: Sonor Safari

If it gets...
