Re: Drumming Injury Advice needed!

I don't get hurt while drumming but I do while working out /work. When it happens , I just take it easy and use the pain as an indicator : really sore, rest

Re: Which college will be the best choice for drummer doing rock muisc in LA?

I may come out a little "rude" but I don't think one needs to go to a music college for rock drumming.

Re: bass drum depth

They have to change stuff so they can sell us more stuff. Doesn't mean it is better , it only means it is different then the previous stuff and thus makes us want to buy more stuff.

I like all my toms slightly angled . I play a lot of rimshots and with the tom flats , it would force me to drop my hand/wrist too far down. I raise the toms and tilt and voila!!!

Re: Playing Fast?

E kits have sometimes latency problems (delay) the faster you play , the worst it gets. I have had success playing fast fills on all kinds if genres and it fits in very well. The key is where/how....

Re: Ludwig Snare (not supraphonic, not an Acrolite)?

After reading your thread , I looked at an old Ludwig snare I used to play that came with the 1st kit I bought when I was at Berklee. Same snare but mine needs lots of cleaning !

Re: Jazz players - did we get this right?

Not a jazz purist (or anything for that matter !!). I would have used the 1st kit with the 2nd kit snare. Only other thing I would have done is lower the 1st kit's floor tom,
Basically , keep 1st...

Re: What do you look for in a company drum video?

Would be nice to have a video shot with the basic mics. (D112,57on snare, and room mike).
Not the two mines per tom , etc, etc.

Or maybe just one good room mic and nothing else.

Sometimes I like to change things around on my kit that nobody else uses so I can experience something different/have a different angle on things.
Maybe he is just trying new stuff.

If it was a common color, I would list the 8" by itself . But it bring a color no one has rarely seen, sell the whole kit as one. My guess would be around $1000

I don't remember seeing a beech custom with a 3 legged floor tom. All the ones I saw were suspended. But then again, I haven't seen that many.
