Re: Is this "Unprofessional"

Bermuda's hit the nail firmly on the head for me.

Always go prepared to a gig, brushes are essential to a stick bag. You never know when you might need them.

Re: I Need to Get Re-Motivted

I had this recently, lasted around 6 months or so. Still thought about drums all day long, bought stuff for the kit.

Just couldn't be motivated to practice. I'm kept busy with gigs but away from...

Re: The 2015 funky Guru snare competition starts now! Entry details :)

Great competition Andy,

If I could figure out how to enter I would (I'm hopeless when it comes to recording/uploading)

However, I'll follow everyones entries with interest.

Re: How to politely and professionally quit

Do it face to face and like others have said do it politely.

I'd personally them your heart isn’t in it and they should accept it ok as after all who wants a band member who isn’t fully committed...

Re: What's your story about how you started drumming?

My uncle (a well respected and in demand Jazz Drummer in the 60's-90's) gave me a pair of sticks when a small boy so I always had them around me but never really felt gravitated towards anything...

Re: Is it OK to talk about the movie "Whiplash" yet?

I enjoyed it

It's a bit of entertainment. Us drummers can see that some of the synced scenes are out and it's more of a sports/extreme film that a drum film but I'd rather watch this than most...

Re: Global Drum Network podcast

Have a listen.

I don't think Bob is an active poster on here. It's been running about a year and a half and there's enough episodes to count it as a regular podcast.

He's pulling in some top...

Re: So...where do you keep your spare sticks?

In a live setting sticks in the Hi Hat legs to back me up if I drop one.

My stick bag is fastened to the floor tom. That contains my brushes, rutes and mallets along with a spare pair of sticks...

Re: Vintage Snare Drum Collectors?

I have a 1968 14x5 vintage Supra and I'd like to add an old and deep Radio King (I currently own a 14x 5.5 but modern day Radio King) to this, along with a Round Badge Gretsch and a 1980's Tama Bell...

Spent the Friday before gigging in London and got back to Hampshire in the early hours of Saturday morning. Managed a handful of hours sleep before grabbing a coffee and a...

Thank you for organising this again.

Re: Nick Hopkins drums

Have dealt with Nick on a restoration job for a vintage Premier set I own. Couldn't go ahead with it as we suddenly got engaged during that time.

Really nice chap, hope to give him my business...

Re: Musically, what are you involved with at the present?

1. How many bands are you in?

In three. A full time member for my main band, Cook and The Case. Another of my main bands is taking a hiatus currently, waiting on a start up date again.
Sub with...

Re: Does anyone actually like big finales?

Not after every song, that would get boring very fast (although I have found it accidentally happening at some gigs in the past, without really registering it at the time!!)
