Re: What is your drum setup pet peeve?

I mainly play in a 17 pc big band. All the other players simply pop off the mouth piece and through it in a case and are gone. I spend a good half hour packing stuff away. Same with the set up. I...

In The Mood, String of Pearls, American Patrol, St. Louis Blues, Tuxedo Junction. We have over 1000 in our book (Talk of the Town - OKC) But one of my favorite is by Sammy Nestico - Cute.

Re: An question on triplets

No. Let me see if I can explain this verbally without writing it down.

What you have written, 2-16th and one 8th, are played 1 e & as part of 1 e & ah, leaving the last 16th silent but still...

Ignacio Berroa

I just attended a cllinic given by Ignacio Berroa. Quite a "tasty" drummer. The clinic was very informative and educational. He is quite a personable guy, too. Oh, and I bought a new 21" Sabian...

Re: Your 1st drumset?what and when?

I especially like the sandals, however, the camera (left) isn't bad, either. My first kit was a white marine pearl Lyra bought about 1963. I had that kit till I sold it to my old high school for...

The leg mounts on a FT usually have the wing nut on the side. If you put them on randomly it’s easy to get two wing nuts...

Re: Have you ever played in a parade?

I did something similar. a few years ago our college alumni band was asked to play in an annual city parade. Since we were mostly "old fogy’s", we didn't march, but rode on a flat bed truck. I was...

Re: New (?) Zickos kit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love them, too. I have to stop giging with them till I get cases. On the first gig I put a couple of scratches (ouch!) in them. Suggestions on source (for cases, not scratches)?

Re: Ride Cymbal Technique/Swing Feel For Playing Jazz

My description of this is way more complicated than if I could draw it out and post it, but I can't, so, hear goes.

IMHO, if you notate a 16th note rhythm (one 1/4 note, four 1/16 notes, etc) as 1...

Re: Question to pro drummers - memory?

I was going to ask a question but I forgot what it was.........

Re: waiting!!

I know exactly how you feel. I've been waiting for two weeks for someone to ship me two drums to complete my kit. He's a reputable guy but he has my money and I have no drums yet. :-(
