Re: Yamaha Drums

Thanks, Neal. Yeah this could actually be the ideal kit - the elusive birch toms and maple kick. I've seen so many great Yamaha kits for sale lately. It was tough to decide which to go for. But, the...

Re: Yamaha Drums

Thanks, totally agree. Another reason I decided to go for them. I always wanted a Cherrywood RC kit, but whenever I was buying, there weren't any around. I have my classic Piano Black, and now I'll...

Re: Yamaha Drums

Darn, I wanted it to be a surprise. Yeah, I did get them. The kit is MCA 12,14,22. I just wanted the 14 and 22, to complete a Cherrywood kit I've been working on. I already have 8 10 12 in BCA. They...

Re: Yamaha Drums

I don't get this pricing at all. Seriously, I don't think I have seen any Yamaha kit priced this high, except the Phx. Didn't Yamaha state in one of the NAMM videos the new prices would be 30% lower...

Re: Yamaha Drums

I have a bronze Supra 5" in addition to the Yamaha copper. I'd say the copper and bronze are pretty close, but I think my bronze is little drier than my copper.

Re: Newest tools

Congrats on the kit. Pearl makes awesome higher end stuff. They sometimes get bad mouthed on this site, and I don't know why. Everything about them just says 'quality.' I love my Reference kit and am...

Re: Yamaha Drums

Wow, congrats. Looks like you have metal snares all covered. How do you like the copper? I have the same era copper in 5.5x14, and love it. I also had the 4x14, but to me, didn't sound all that...

Re: Yamaha Drums

Ok, these are 'interesting,' but $10,000? Not in anyone's wildest dreams!

Re: Yamaha Maple Custom Owners

Why would you take your existing drums which you aren't happy with and spend another $4-$500 to modify them? If you bought them really cheap and were able to do the whole thing including the kick for...

Re: Yamaha Maple Custom Owners

Thanks. You're not going to be able to make your 10x10 a 7x10 unless you totally change from RC lugs. Even the shortest RC lug can only be used on 7.5" at the shortest. Yamaha tried to make a 7" RC...

Re: Yamaha Drums

Anyone want a used Live Custom? GC has one for $899.99 in the Richmond, Virginia store. Looks like 10,12, 16, 22 (but you need to confirm the sizes) in the Amber Burst finish. Seems like a nice price.

Re: Yamaha Maple Custom Owners

I actually did this exact thing with a 12 BCAN tom. I wanted a 9x12 for my black RC kit. But Yamaha only made 8x12 and 10x12. I had extras of the short RC lugs. The BCAN holes were just a tad shorter...

Re: Just a G.A.S. observation

Everyone needs to have some enjoyment, entertainment and hobby in their lives. Mine happens to be drums and drum equipment. When I got my first kit as a kid, I initially set it up in my bedroom, and...

Re: Yamaha Drums

That stinks. Maybe they sold it in the store. Unless they ask for immediate payment on eBay, it would have been off the market once you placed your Buy Now bid (unless they relisted it, but they...

Re: This kit vs. this other kit

OP: These are the kinds of things you need to think about, which is why you shouldn't limit yourself to looking at these 2 kits. Having no tom mount is a bit of a pain as Dre mentioned, when it comes...

Re: This kit vs. this other kit

It seems to me you are going about this the wrong way. When I buy a kit, I first identify what drum kit I'm looking for. So, let's say you want to buy a Renown kit. Then you would look for the Renown...

I know you have the Caramel Sparkle MCA and now the Cherrywood BCA. What are your other MCA and BCA (finish and sizes)?
