Re: TAMA LOGO - ANYBODY?

You just want the basic logo? I bought a Tama decal on ebay for like $3 to put on a drum head. I'll give you the seller's link if you want.

Re: Flams

Watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ym9EsmWmS6Q

I know it isn't an instructional video on flams but watch when he hits both of his sticks on the same drum. That is in my opinion the...

Re: Tuning / Dampening

When I take stuff out of it the sound tends to be less punchy and too resonant. Do you have any advice for this? i haven't really messed around with any tension so maybe that's what I need to do.

Re: Tuning / Dampening

I like to let my drums sing by not dampening any of the toms. I usually keep the strainer relatively loose on the snare but I like to have a hollow echo-like sound with it. I loosen my snares to make...

Re: My first REAL drumkit :O

Hey Mapex is a solid company. I have played a few Mapex kits and they all sounded really good. Maple is a great wood for drums as well. I'm looking forward to the pictures you put up.

Re: RAYA DRUMS - check em out....

I don't agree with that. You are the only person that cares about this that I have seen. If it were such a huge deal then I'm sure they would have lost their consumers a long time ago. Really, who...

Re: Small rant for the day

I just don't like how people think an "artist" is good when they don't have a shred of musical talent. Take hip-hop for example. Nothing against the genre itself, but I think that a good portion of...

Re: RAYA DRUMS - check em out....

I don't know if this was said already but I think the only reason there aren't angles in post #9 is because the hoops are attached by claws, not through holes in the hoops like normal ones. This...

Re: What type of Gretsch kit is this?!

I'm not a Gretsch expert but judging by the size of the bass drum and the finish, I say it's a Catalina rock.

Re: Any other road rats ever do this?

The Beatles "Gotta Get You Into My Life" turned into "Gotta Get You Into My Wife"

"In the Mood" turned into "In the Nude"

"Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" became "MRSA, MRSA, MRSA"

Re: Okay, I don't care what anyone says. Jimmy Chamberlin is a BEAST

I LOVE Jimmy Chamberlin. I can't tell you how long I have waited to see someone else say something on this forum about him. He sneaks in so many things that other drummers just ignore. I think what...

Listen to Ringo's tambourine hit. It's just a little off beat. He also stays consistent throughout the song.

Re: bass drum padding

Maybe if you do something to the outside of the head. Before I bought an impact badge for the the head I used a folded tissue. I folded it until it made an even square and duct taped it to the head....

Re: Help ID Yamaha kit and Zildjian Cymbals

You can find the year of Zildjians by looking at the stamp that ZIldjian put on the outside edge of the cymbal. The very bottom of the stamp are two letters and a bunch of numbers. The two letters...

Re: Dads drums.

Use Bar Keepers Friend on the rusty stands. It works wonders. It is good on cymbals too!

What's up with the resonant bass drum head? Is it mesh or something?

Re: Observations of what the different sexes look for in music

From what I noticed, every woman likes music if it had words throughout 3/4 of the song. I tried to play "Politik" by Coldplay in the car once and after the first minute without words, my mom changed...

Re: Lido drums?

Well thank you for your input! I'm leaving soon to check it out. Anything will suffice for me because I just want something to play on. God I wish I could afford a Slingerland set.
