Great description. I never thought of it that way but now listening again, it does create a tense feeling. It's nice to realize when you understand concept and then see that concept in practical use....

Learning my counting and basic drum beats and was trying to dissect a song. Too much time on my hands by the Styx. On the intro, there is a part where he is playing the snare only. Always seemed off...

comparison Yama vs pdp

Has anyone been able to tryout PDP's new Concept series drums? If so, how do you feel they compare to Yamaha's stage customs?

And one more question regarding the hardware: PDP's 800 series...

Thanks again for the advice but I ended up buying new instead. Picked up a Yamaha Stage custom with 8" added tom and the 700 series hardware. Now it's time for a throne and some cymbals.

Thanks for the input. I definitely plan on a visual inspection and playing them. When you buy used drums, do you bother attempting to loosen and tighten each lug to make sure none are stripped. Or...
