Re: The matching snare

Wow. This thread sure took on a life of its own! Larry, was this a generic question and did you expect the responses you got?

The way I saw the question was 'Starter kits an most mid-range kits...

Re: Trusting others with your kit?

I think it is very admirable that you would even consider putting your kit out at a high/middle school gig for young people to play. I don't think I'd worry as much about cracking a cymbal as much...

Re: Sonor S-Class Pro

Hi.

From the research I did, the S Class Pro is Chinese made.

It is up to you to decide based on condition, what you get, and what the nickel and dime costs are going to be (for example, do...

Re: Sonor S-Class Pro

Thanks. The infor is iffy at best .. I wish Sonor had a timeline. But I think we are both wrong. ;-) The brochure you pointed me too has a 1997 date and the sonormuseum link says 1995+.

Re: Sonor S-Class Pro

From the research I did (I'm building a compete spread-sheet), The S Class birch/maple drums were introduced in 1998. The hardware was made in China and the shells were made in German. I'm not sure...

Re: Best Maple Drumkit around $1000

+1. "best" is really subjective.

I never quite understood why there are not sticky threads here on 'new drums' that have a market value of under 500, 500-1000, 1000-1500, 1500-300, over 3000. ...

Re: What's the better option: new or used drum kit?

Have you played/looked at other kits? Im curious what is drawing you back to Tama? I ask because you first said you did not like the first set and the second set was 'alright'.

You have a good...

Re: Another Band Drama Thread

The drummer is always too loud. It does not matter if the guitar player has 4 hiwatt stacks set to 11 on the volume dial and the bass play users 2 18s. It is always the drummers fault. :-)

Re: The matching snare

let's add another component to this question. With higher end kits, do people buy matching snares because they match, more often than not?

Re: What's the better option: new or used drum kit?

I agree with KamaK. If $1200 is your shell budget, you can find some good buys from retailers like Guitar Center or off sites like reverb.com. You should be able to get high end older German...
