OK, I'll chime in with my $.02.

One thing I always tell players on any instrument is to get as much time on stage as possible. Don't wait for the perfect band/situation. Get on stage every chance...

I have always been a big fan of stretching before a gig. (or a round of golf, for that matter)
I think it helps both the physical and the mental game. Cuz I think if you don't do it, your body will...
