As Tony said, use earphones. No way you will hear metronome over the drums.

Even putting up flashing color etc, gotta be careful with that. The computer app or even a phone app will sometimes...

Check out colin bailey's dvd bass drum technique, he's the master. Also, Matt Patella has a great book called Ostinato Vol 1 which has everything you need.

Otherwise some great players here on...

checkout Remo SilentStroke heads.

they are mesh heads, so they are quieter for sure and have some tone to them. I have them on one of my acoustic kits that I converted to electronic.

aaah good tip billray. So just import the metronome clicks in different tempos, create and export as .mp3 with Audacity.

Unless specified, are all the rolls (ie., 5 stroke, 7, stroke, etc) considered open even though at faster tempos they...
