I believe WhoisTony is describing more of a jam night instead of open mic. There is usually a kit provided although bringing your own sticks is a good idea.

The open mics around here usually...

My vote is for the cymbal upgrade.

Unless - the camp is a once in a lifetime type. Just like there is gear that will always be there, there are a lot of 'drum days' and drum camp style experiences...

Also - don't try to play with stereo speakers. You'll lose that battle unless you play very lightly and even then I don't recommend it.

Always use some headphones that you can plug into a sound...
