Re: If you could have it all - What would it be?

Pretty much every drum size available from C&C made of every material that they can think of: Maple, Birch, Ash, Mahogany, Acrylic, Hybrid, Stainless Steel, Rosewood, Cherry, etc.

One of each...

Re: Advice on buying this kit?

The QR's sound ok. Not the best but good for what they are. Nice TRX, but he'll want to replace the ZBT's eventually. Looks like a fresh bass drum head and nice Pearl Eliminator Double Pedal. They're...

Re: SJC Custom?

The other day I went to Guitar Center and tried out this beautiful Paiste Prototype 17" Crash that I want to get. I want my cymbals to get that vintage vibe like the C&Cs will:
15" Dream Bliss Hats...

Re: SJC Custom?

Hey guys. I've decided against the SJC. It's just more than I'm wanting to spend on a kit. I've decided to go with C&C and one of their new luan mahogany kits. I'm going to go with the same sizes:...

Re: SJC Custom?

Well, part of the reason that I don't want a vintage kit is because I want to keep some of the modern appointments of today. I really don't plan on selling this kit either. I plan to keep it with me...

SJC Custom?

Hey guys!
I'm looking for a nice little kit with that vintage-yet-modern sound that I'm after and have heard some great SJC kits lately. I know they get a bad rep for making some uglier kits but,...

Re: Indulge or Buy Logically?

Yeah I understand what you mean. I'm pretty sure that I'm going with the smaller cymbals since I'm not playing huge gigs. I already have the two cymbals which is why I want to keep them.

Indulge or Buy Logically?

Hey guys. I'm saving up for some new cymbals and I need to know if I should indulge on big cymbals or be smart and get reasonably sized ones

Re: [USED] Pearl VBX vs PDP m5

Yeah the VBX is a pretty amazing kit. I went to a WinterJam in ATL this year and guess what they used? A VBX in Concord Fade. It sounded amazing micced up and the toms just had a very pleasing attack...

Re: Got a tryout with a funk band - advice?

I <3 LM402s :)

But my advice to you is to work on ghostnotes, beat displacement, and Diddles. Texture is key in funk drumming. Adding ghostnoes into a groove can really change the song.

Re: Hmm... Could this work?

Yeah I understand what you mean. Maybe just cut some "shapes" for lack of a better word and their opposing shapes on the other section. The butterfly camps could still hold it together though, I'm...

Well I know that changing heads for a short time is a pain in the arse for me and probably a bunch of other folks too. I think that guys like session drummers would enjoy the quick change when...

Hmm... Would this work?
Hey guys. I've come up with an idea but I'm not sure if it has been done or would work or not. Hoping to get some feedback on it:

Imagine a 20x16 bass drum. Very versatile...

Re: Your Opinion? Remove certain instruments from my drum IEM.

Yea you need to communicate with your sound man. That's what he's there for. Personally on my church mix, I have mostly vocals, rhythm guitar, and bass when we have a bass player since ours left. I...

Re: This a thread that proably hasn't been done before.

I'm getting my girlfriend a Nerf gun :) Probably the Recon seeing as it has so many available attachments, it's relatively cheap, and it's a pretty easily modifiable gun (Air chamber).

Re: This a thread that proably hasn't been done before.

Wow I didn't expect so many replies! I'm hoping that I get enough Christmas money to allow me to buy a pair of 15" Dream Bliss Hats or an 18" Zildjian A Medium-Thin (Used of course. Used stuff is...

Re: Purchasing my first kit, :)!

Sizes:Well for Progressive Metal, I would look into maybe a 6-7 piece. 8" (Optional), 10", 12", 14", 16", and a 20" bass would do you good. For more crack than fatness, look into a 13x5 or 14x5.5...
