If people werent interested in drum gear, there wouldnt be so many variants of it.
Plus, a lot of players are looking to teachers and multimedia sources for their instruction these days.

Id go the cheapest one - As all will do the job for you, admirably.

Also, dont be too sold on a particular size before youve heard it. Some brands make 20" kicks than can sound fatter than 22's.

Actually, a lot of drum gear in Australia has come DOWN, with the value of the dollar.
I couldnt believe how relatively cheap some of the dw hardware is now, compared to where it was 5 years ago.

If that doesnt work, explian to him that gear normally sounds better at a lower volume, the house mix will sound better at a lower stage volume and people wont be...

As a manager in a large MI retail store, I can tell everyone out there that the secret has a lot to do with creating desire for the customer and being able to adapt quickly.

Dont underestimate the difficulty of a shit band too.
What I mean by that is, vocalists should possess technique just like any other musician should, and the gear they use (whether good or bad)...
