Re: Wonder how many other manufacturers' drums would hold up...

It's just so impressive that they would hold up that well under those conditions. Makes me feel extra confident in my Birch Customs. I'm always so worried when I play them out that they will get...

Wonder how many other manufacturers' drums would hold up...

Just saw this video with Dave McAfee, drummer for Toby Keith, talking about his Yamaha drums. I think it's an amazing story, and I wonder how many other brands would hold up under the same...

Re: Yamaha Custom Absolutes... what's it worth now?

Yeah, I get what everyone is saying. I actually don't WANT to sell it, but I can't justify keeping it anymore since its my 2nd BCAN kit and I need to make some space at home. And I could use the...

Re: Yamaha Custom Absolutes... what's it worth now?

Thanks! It is an awesome kit. :) I hate to sell it, but I have another full BCAN kit, and I don't have space for this one anymore. :( The sizes are:

I...

Re: Identify this Ludwig snare?

Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah, I'm really excited about it. I always wanted a deep wood snare, especially a Ludwig, so when I saw it on craigslist I went for it. It needs a little work, but...

Re: Identify this Ludwig snare?

Thanks for the input. It has a stamp inside, but it's a little smudged and it's hard to make out. It says either 89 or 68. Trying to figure out around what year this was made. I was hoping...

Identify this Ludwig snare?

I just got what I think is a good deal off Craigslist, I took a chance and I got the drum pictured for $130 including a soft case. I'm not quite sure of the details of this drum. I think it's a...

Re: Tune Bot ordered

I bought a TuneBot about a month ago, and I love it! I think it's a great tool to not only help tune your drums, but to also help tune your EARS. I think this is the part that people are missing...

Re: THE CLASSIFIEDS - For Sale / Wanted

Curious if anyone in the north east (NJ, NY, PA) area would be interested in trading their Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute for my Birch Custom Absolute. It's a beautiful blue sparkle kit. Excuse the...

Re: Be careful of your gator cases!

No problem man. I'm not trying to trying to start any big argument. It's just my opinion. To each his own.

Re: Be careful of your gator cases!

With all due respect, I must disagree. If the case is made properly (i.e. without corrosive glues or other bad materials), and it doesn't get wet inside, there is absolutely no reason why a case...

Re: Be careful of your gator cases!

I realize this thread is over a month old, but I figure I'll throw my 2 cents in anyway... I've stored my drums in soft bags for a long time and I've never had a problem with corrosion. I can see...

Re: Possible to replace Yamaha Nouveau lugs with Classics?

I prefer the looks of the Classic lugs myself, although I can see the appeal of the Nouveau lugs for quick head changes.

Possible to replace Yamaha Nouveau lugs with Classics?

I was wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to simply replace the Yamaha Nouveau lugs with a set of Classic lugs on a drum? Are the hole configurations the same (or close enough)?

thanks!

Re: TAMA Performer B/B... good price?

Thanks for the replies everyone. I may grab them, but my only concern is being able to get matching add-on pieces for it in the future, since it's a discontinued finish. I really want 2 kicks and...

Re: TAMA Performer B/B... good price?

Also, can someone actually tell me if the black to silver fade on the kit is an official finish? I can't find it listed as a finish for a Performer B/B kit. Or maybe it was an older finish? It's...
