Re: Pearl Free Floating Question...

Re: Recent build

Those kits are a work of art and a superior result of fine craftsmanship! Great configurations of shallow toms and deep bass drums. It gives them that modern edge. Thumbs up!

Re: Project I'm doing

Sorry, I just read that you're looking to do a solid colour with a splatter accent on top. You may be better off to leave the wrap on in that situation just to avoid complications. Good luck. Keep us...

Re: Project I'm doing

Here's a pic of the whole kit. The floor Tom matches pretty good. And I sold the old CB for the $80 I paid for it minus the floor Tom.

Removing the wrap is easy and looks better stained IMO. It...

Re: Project I'm doing

I was looking to have a matching floor 16" floor Tom for my kit about a year ago. I ended up picking up a complete CB kit that had the floor Tom that I needed for only $80. I took the hardware off,...

Re: Tama Starclassic Birch or Pearl Masters Studio Birch

Odd that u say that THEY suggested that u buy it out right. Because in your original purchasing post, you say that YOU suggested that you buy it out, and they allowed it.

Re: Tama Starclassic Birch or Pearl Masters Studio Birch

Yikes! Someone please remind me in the future not to put anything on layaway where Dirtysticks shops. I would be furious. Especially for a kit like that. The original buyer probably had his heart set...

Re: Mapex Horizon Birch HZB Vs. Pearl Export EXX [2013 Series]

It looks like the Mapex has a virgin kick drum. That could give you the advantage of comfortable Tom placement.

The Exports have 12" and 13" rack toms. The Mapex kit has 10" and 12" rack toms....

Which model Ddrum snare is this?

I got this new snare. All it says is that it's Ddrum, designed in USA, and custom maple shell. What series/model would this be? I got it for $140 Canadian. 13x7 with die cast hoops. Sorry that the...

Re: What is missing from my collection?

Have u considered going deeper? Like 14x8". Even different material. Like fibreglass or something. A deep tempous snare might be worth looking into.

Re: Pearl Selected Wood Series

I had a couple before. One came with my last pearl export kit. It was liquid Amber in color. Those drums sound pretty decent, but nothing spectacular. They're made out of poplar. The ones that I...

Re: Hunting for the right color...

I'm sure what this has to do with this thread, but thanx anyway....

I'm still waiting for my Pearl MCX chestnut fade snare to come in. I hate playing the waiting game.

Re: Tama superstar Hyperdrive Limited edition or Sonor select force maple

Good choice. Though both are great kits, the Sonor kit uses Canadian Maple which is slightly higher quality than average maple. But, I still would have to toss a coin between those two kits. They're...

Which Vision series is this?

I'm inquiring about a Pearl Vision kit. It's the fusion style with 22" kick, 10, 12 toms, 16" Floor Tom, and 14" sensitone snare. I asked the owner which series it is ( VB, VBL, VBX, etc). He said...

Re: Pearl Masters MCX Series Tuning Woes?

I did have this problem once, but it was because I mixed and matched heads. I had a Evans onyx on my 14", and a Evans EC2 on my 16". Seems like the onyx would only go so high and the ec2 would only...

Re: Hunting for the right color...

All I know is that I ordered Chestnut fade, the one that came in was a very vibrant yellow with black hardware. It actually looked pretty good, but it's not the color/finish that I'm looking for....

Re: Hunting for the right color...

Well the snare came in. I opened the box and found that it was by far the wrong color. Apparently, it was a mistake with the SKU number. The one that came in was Hot Yellow with gold hardware. We...

Re: Pearl aluminium, or Ludwig?

I think that both are equal in quality and also in sound ( sensitone vs acrolite ). I would much perfer the 6.5 depth either way. Far better sounding than the smaller depths of those models IMO. That...

Wow! Very good eye. Nice catch on the Tama Swingstar throw-off. I think it's quite obvious that I'm not going to check out the drum. All of your guys input is very apreciated. Your guy's experience...
