Re: So there's no such thing as an 11" tom...

Wow... my reviving this thread nearly three weeks ago has already gotten 10 new posts (not including my replies).

Looks like there is still interest in 11's! Now, if everyone would go to their...

Re: So there's no such thing as an 11" tom...

Not exactly. Remo stocks them in many of the popular finishes (Ambassador, Emperor, Pinstripe, etc.). They're not even special order (i.e. not have to be made custom). Although you will have to wait...

Re: So there's no such thing as an 11" tom...

Huh. Never thought of that. I guess it's possible, like a mini gong bass drum. I suspect the small diameter would be somewhat of a strain on the lugs though (assuming you could find lugs that would...

Re: So there's no such thing as an 11" tom...

So this thread is now 7 years old, and normally there's no need to revive the dead... but since I did a search for "Tama 11" diameter tom" and this came up, I'm going to add a bit of info that I have...

Re: Looking for Tama toms

I'm reviving this post in case anyone is looking for info on early Rockstars. BTW, Tama has legacy products catalogs that list all sizes, models and colors offered, going as far back as the 70's -...

Re: The 23" bass drum

I personally would love to see drum companies go back to offering more tom sizes (both diameter and depth) like they use to in the 80s and 90. Now, short of Mapex, I can't think of anyone that offers...

Re: The 23" bass drum

I always pine when I see Granstars with 11" toms for sale! I really wish the 11" would come back into style.

I have an old entry level Rockstar DX. Started out with the standard...

Re: Tama Rockstar from 1990-93

Well, since you all have indeed raised this thread from the dead, I'm going to add my Rockstar story to the annals.

I bought my first (and to date, only) drum set from the now closed and bankrupt...

Re: Pearl or Gibraltar drum rack?

This thread has been open for nearly 5 years now, but I'll add my own input for the sake of detailing product longevity. Or rather, to illustrate the fact that Gibraltar's Road Series racks are still...

Re: Rediculously Massive Drum Kits

I'm late joining in this debate. I was just drooling over these awesome kits (I own an 11 piece myself) and saw your questions.

The "spiraly" thing actually looks like a stack of Rototom "Spokes"...

Re: For anyone that may have an unfulfilled order with Midwest Percussion.

I had similar problems earlier this year (March/April) with trying to get Tama parts (specifically tom mounting brackets). I could never get a straight answer out of them... "it's coming next...
