Re: Bar bands, what's more important...

I would probably say B. Not because it's right, per se, but if I have an off night, and the people enjoyed it anyway , I would still be bothered by it for days....

Although, I would take either...

Re: How did Keith Moon play?

No, this was way before Youtube. I did feel as though I improved on a few things. i do have some recordings somewhere, i'll try and find them. and, also, it's nopt so much that moon was bad, but he...

Re: How did Keith Moon play?

I'm 46. Keith Moon was a bit before me, but not much. I grew up thinking he was good. It wasn't really until my mid 30s, when I began playing Who cover tunes, when I realized how bad he seemed. I...

Re: Single stroke 16th >150bpm

Is there more to that? Why the heck not? I have one, and it's great.

Re: Single stroke 16th >150bpm

Hey Bob, get one of these. It's a great way to build rolls, and a lot of fun to see how fast you can go! Plus, you can track your progress. I have one, and it vastly helped me out. Kinda pricey, but...

Re: learning a song (comfortably numb)

There's a ton of tunes where the drummer seems to have either changed his mind, or forgot what he was doing. In the case of Comfortably Numb, when I played it, I wouldn't even think abouth the bass...

Re: Playing drums to music

When you say playing for almost 20 years, do you mean almost 20 years ago you started? Then took, say 10 years off, and began again keeping the clock running? Like me, I've been playing for about 36...

Re: Oh no! Not another double bass question!

Thanks. Ya, I was afraid that a longboard wouldn't be the solution. I do have a Vruk, and I kind of like it, it works, but not always, for some reason. But it extends the foot board by a ton. Pretty...

Re: Oh no! Not another double bass question!

Double bass drumming is probably the number one thing that drummers are asking about. Youtube is full of videos and tricks and whatnot. I agree with everybody here that it comes down topractice. I've...

Re: How did Keith Moon play?

I agree totally. I've never been a fan of Moon. I love The Who, though. But Keith's playing is simply awful. i couldn't get on board with it. It just didn't make any sense. It was like a 10 year old...

Re: The Douchiest Drummers of All Time

Pretty funny and lame at the same time. I have to agree about Bozzio, though. Not that he's a douche, but who DOES need 30 toms? It's like he has this overly gigantic drum set just so he can say ' i...

Re: we should find rhythms in everything !

The bugs and frogs outside at night make a pretty cool rythym sometimes. I can hear them while I am sleeping and sometimes I'll put music to it in my head.

LMAO. that's the best thing I heard in a long time and, yes, I'll be using that in the future.

Re: Thrones and Glamorous Health Issues

+1 for Roc N Soc, I love mine and can sit in it for a long time comfortably. However, 9 hours a day in any chair will probably hurt your backside......

Re: what drum should i buy for adult

Not too old at 21. There are a few things in life, like ice hockey, where 21 is too old to master. what kills me is that in this day and age, with youtube, google, other sites, people are unsure...

Re: Thinking about a set of Rotos

i bought a set of rotos. "6,8",10" Remo. I got them on CL about two years ago. They came without a stand, and I thought I could find a stand later on or somehow affix them in another way. Never did,...

Re: Drum Bags/Cases or No Drum Bags/Cases?

I absolutley love my Wolfpak cases. Which is probably why they stopped making them. These things have a more rigid edge to them, so the corners don't buckle. I can slam my drum against a wall with...

Re: Gig Disasters?

Sound guys can be annoying. I remember one gig at a country club back in February. It was tough as far as scheduling, and our usual sound guy could'nt do it. So, I called this one guy that I got a...
