Re: Completely out of touch old fart irrelevant opinion - but,

I wonder if posts on internet forums should be written as succinctly as possible due to the nature of not being able to detect sarcasm in the written word.

Sorry...back to wood shedding on the...

Re: Keller Maple Shells

Re: Completely out of touch old fart irrelevant opinion - but,

The synth 's I reffered to wern't acoustic instruments, they stopped working due to a technical glitch. The piano was the instrument that worked due to it's acoustic design so that's what he went and...

Re: What is your opinion of this Billy Cobham review?

Meh...who ever created a statue for a critic?

As a salve for that sort of negativity, I'm reassured when I watch this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rorTZyGlLFA

Re: Completely out of touch old fart irrelevant opinion - but,

I wonder what the Laptop guy does if his hard drive freezes. Use a back up computer? That would seem to be a wise idea.

I remember an ELP concert in the 70's where Keith's entire synthesizer rig...

Most likely because orchestra's don't generally keep a steady pulse from the first measure to last measure of a piece. Who would...

Re: New Gretsch 3 ply Broadkaster line

I've never owned or played any Gretsch drums. What are the sound characteristics of the Broadkaster series?

Re: Just a G.A.S. observation

If it only stood for Guru Acquisition Syndrome then all would be well in my meager drum room.

Re: What happened to marching snares?

I'm not so certain that tastes changed or it was simply forced upon us like so many other "evolutions" in music. Personally, I find it to be the equivalent of listening to a sewing machine punching...

Re: What's your latest purchase?

That's an amazing cymbal. Congrats on getting one!

I just picked up a new rug for the practice room from a certain big-box home improvement store.

Dear Dr. I'm not sure why you consider my thoughts on this "weird" but let's just agree to disagree shall we?
I will say no-more on this matter.

Re: Practicing on a Pillow

Even though I agree with the good Dr. on a many posts here, I still stand firm in my statement. It can lead to injury over time if it's not monitored by an experienced player. The different surfaces...

Re: Practicing on a Pillow

A key component of hand speed is controlling the rebound off the surface. I've never known pillows to have any rebound. I'd be very careful to make certain that no harm is being done to your hands...

Re: Moody Blues’s Graeme Edge: A Responsibility to Play the Hits

Nobody plays "NIWS" like Graeme does.

Re: So and so is a good drummer, but...

I daresay that is one of the key reasons you are a professional who is gainfully employed. There's a lot of drummers who I am amazed at but I don't know how well they'd fit into a band environment.
