what kit do you play...what heads do you have...what size sticks do you use...how are your toms positioned(what angle)...how tight/loose do you have them tuned...and how do you grip your sticks...

what you said about there isn't any bounce from a real drum? you can get plenty of bounce from them. toms included. the snares bounce mainly comes from the kind of head and amt of tension.

Some drummers prefer their toms flatter and more leveled off and in some cases, having them mounted where the bass drum allows for them originally is just too tall and haveing them on a snare stand...

yah that is very true. i guess just make sure that your in a band that you trust. that being said, if you don't really know the members, anything could happen.

Band Leaders

Ive been in a few bands already and its always one person making the calls and very little group input on gigs, music style, etc.

in my opinion when a band forms...all decisions should be made...

That is very good advice about really checking out the band before you join.

Most bands are just circuit bands but there are few that are dedicated and have real talent. please check this band...

Snares are dif. the best investment for your drumset. my friend owns over 7 snares and changes them out when switching styles of music. IMO find out what kind of sound you want to achieve then come...
