Re: Vintage Ludwigs: Good deal?

Thanks everyone for the advice, especially Harry's. Yes, I figured that this kit originally would have had a 12-inch tom. I currently play with one rack tom and two floor toms (14 and 16-inch), so to...

I recently ran across a set of Vintage Ludwigs for sale for $1,500 (Canadian) and I'm wondering if it's a good deal. The kit is from 1970/71, and has a white pearl finish. Sizes are 20-inch bass,...

Re: Carter Beauford's Grey Street

For the verse parts. I think I know what he's doing in the chorus. I just need to know the basic pattern for the verse parts. Once I've got that I can work on the many little fills he does.

Thanks for the responses everyone. Just wanted to let you know, the drum finally arrived a few days ago. Took just slightly more than four months. I see a posting elsewhere from someone who ordered...

Problems ordering Taye gear from Canada

I'm just wondering if any other Canadian drummers are having the same problems I am encountering. I own a Taye kit and I love them, but ever since Ray Ayotte parted company with Taye, it's been a...

Re: Teaching a student with ADHD?

As a drummer who has ADHD, I can tell you this: If you start him out making him learn notation as you teach him rudiments, basic beats and rolls, you will probably lose him. Basically, we have a...

Re: Most difficult//tiring song to play single pedal

Absolutely my vote goes to Good Times, Bad Time by Zeppelin. Bonham had an amazing bass foot. I just learned Good Times, Bad Times for a gig. I finally nailed it, but it took a fair bit of practice....

Re: Favorite Rudiment?

I don't know if this is a true rudiment, but I love it. It's like a variation on the paraddile-diddle:

Re: Derrick Pope: Moeller - One Handed Roll - Heel Toe

Derrick: Great video on the Moeller technique, but you asked for feedback, so here it is. You do a fine job explaining the basic technique, but then gloss over the technique for the alternating...

Re: ludwig supraphonic questions

I have been casting about for quite a while for a good metal snare, and after much shopping around and dithering, I think I have settled on the snare that I want: a 6.5 in Ludwig supraphonic. But I...
