Ok replaced the snares with a Tama 42 strand snares. re tuned and it sounds great now!!!

It is a really cool snare. Has great projection and pop to it. The hoops are Mighty Hoops.

Got it for $125.

Tama Artwood Snare

Recently got one of these snares..... I didn't realize it was artwood. I thought it was a maple snare. This snare really projects and has a great sound.

Goota agree, I have had my Cat Mpls for 2 years and just love the sound. Now the hardware thats used on it should be wayyyyy better but I can live with it.

They break at the solder joint. I used the plastic pieces that came with the new strainer. I get what you are saying about the snare moving and I think that didnt help since the last strainer I had...
