Re: What's your latest purchase?

I was in LA last week for a few days so got a T-shirt from the Pro Drum Shop on Vine Street. Great shop, very nice people there.
Also got a Zildjian K mini china off the local craigslist......

Re: You get what you pay for

Thanks for that Jim, worthwhile to emphasize facts, as they so often get lost in discussions.

Re: Work. When is enough enough?

Considering your past and the fact that you're still here, can only mean you must have been making the right choices at the right time. Just look after yourself.

Re: Can a cheap set be upgraded?

You can change the tyres on your VW but that doesn't make it a Porsche.

Re: What kills your buzz?

Can they just do that?? Don't they need "reasonable grounds" or something?

Re: Upgrade from Yamaha Stage Custom

You are aware that an upgraded SCB (as introduced at NAMM recently) is about to hit the shop floors?

Re: Is it unethical to buy drums made in China?

Exactly, and then we wouldn't have any money to buy those iPhones we love so much... Oh, they're from China too? Bugger....

Re: Is it unethical to buy drums made in China?

Don't forget it's the Australian coal that generates the energy for all that production activity and pollution, and the Australian iron ore... "Money"? Makes the world go round... Careful with these...

Re: A re-epiphanization?

Don't you feel you create every time you play? The creation only exists in the moment (unless it's being recorded). That's how I like to look at it.

Re: Unpopular Drumming Opinion Thread

Our cover band has Danny Wilson and Prefab Sprout songs in the setlist, and they are really popular down here...

Re: Unpopular Drumming Opinion Thread

Re: Hard to find exactly what I want

Are you sure it's the size of the 10" tom that is its limitation, and not the shell material? Considering you like 10" toms perhaps it's worth looking at a "louder" shell material. Not that I know...

Re: Modern Drummer March 2014 issue - why do they do this?

I saw the article I think you refer to, and I assume the list (top 50 greatest drummers of all time) is based on a reader's poll.. Which says more about the readers than it does about the drummers....

Now print this out and stick it in your cymbal bag. It's the best piece of advice you'll ever receive.
