Re: Playing With Backing Tracks Live

I once had some tambourine playing dancing girls cozy up along side me while playing a private party gig. Damn it's hard to keep in tempo with someone next to you playing whatever they are feeling at...

Re: Playing With Backing Tracks Live

Even though I only ventured into this arena 2-3 years ago, I understand exactly what you are saying and I'm sure everyone attempting to do the same thing appreciates your input.

I am kind of...

Re: Playing With Backing Tracks Live

When I use a backing track live, I create an audible "click" that everyone can hear. A tambourine sound works well because the high frequency cuts thru the rest of the music A closed HH sound also...

Re: Unpopular Drumming Opinion Thread

My #3

I don't care what your drums look like. They are just drums. Shut up and hit them.

Re: Names of the drums and cymbals - origins? etymology

The seat is called a throne because of drummer's inflated sense of importance.

And....be sure to tell your band leader to sing it exactly like the song :)

Re: Other musicians' view of drums.

I think he was there the night I came by. He was crazy bed with no clue about tempo. I had never heard anything that wildly random.

I don't know how tabs are written but...Bump 2 3 4 ba bump bump

Some people would disagree but, IMO, you can play whatever simple parts you...

Re: My bizarre, ego-destroying experience

That is a bizarre and interesting story lol.

If the guy was right and it kicks you into gear, maybe it was just what you needed.

If he was a random psycho, you are lucky he didn't kill you and...

Re: Serious timing issue

Upon further analysis.....

1. She is not playing with a click at the beginning. There is no need to.

It's more comfortable to let her just do her human thing and wander a bit. All she has to...

Re: Serious timing issue

Nope. I ran it with a click and it stayed the same until the end. The reason I thought it wasn't a track is because the end sounded real/live.

Re: Prog to isolate drum tracks from a mix?

This, except the ones I've seen are the original music.

The way I see it....

The Guitar Hero and Rock Band games used licensed original music ,so they have access to the master recordings. They...

Re: Serious timing issue

I was curious so, that's what I did and, IMO, the drums came in to quick and never recovered, she (and I think the bass) adjusted to him/it.

There HAD to be some discussion about it. They...

Re: Serious timing issue

The way I hear it, she and the bass are right on time and the drum comes in 1/2 click early

Re: Serious timing issue

I don't think it was a backing track unless someone was trying to sabotage her performance.

I think the drummer simply came in a half click early.

The bass comes in perfectly on 4 and the...

Re: Becoming a professional drummer?
