Re: Recording drums with android phone?

Cool. I'll have to try putting the phone way across the room, because I still want to see myself playing. I'll let you know if it works.

Re: Recording drums with android phone?

I see. So pretty much the mic on the phone wouldn't be able to handle the volume?

Re: Recording drums with android phone?

I've tried recording my drums just with the regular video recording app, and it is always just so distorted and gross.
I would try a sock or pillow, but doing that would limit where I could place...

So I don't really want to get serious with recording my drums, but I would like to just take decent videos of me practicing. I don't really want to buy a usb mic, I would just like to use the mic on...

I've wanted to get that exact PDP kit. Go with the PDP. You won't regret it.

Re: Drum suspension systems

Suspension systems like the Pearl Optimount or Tama Star-Cast system are pretty good.

Best resonance would be achieved though if you could figure out a way to levitate the tom. Try Wingardium...

Re: Drums and beer at my first ever band tryout!

Froms those links, it appears to me that the risks far out-weigh the benefits, especially from the 3rd link. Yes, if you drink very small portions, it could potentially help in some areas. But I...

Re: Drums and beer at my first ever band tryout!

I'd say quite the opposite. Drinking alcohol can cause strokes, high blood pressure, Cardiomyopathy, fibrosis, cirrhosis, can lead to pacreatitis, increases the risk of cancer, weakens the immune...

Re: Drums and beer at my first ever band tryout!

Maybe I didn't hint to my sarcasm in my post as much as I should have. (Ehh, looks like I didn't hint to it at all. Sorry)

Re: Drums and beer at my first ever band tryout!

Re: Drums and beer at my first ever band tryout!

Re: Post your Greatest Weakness

In terms of drumming, hand technique.
In terms of regular stuff, public speaking.

Re: What's your latest purchase?

Used 20" Sabian cymbal bag for $10 bucks. Figured I might as well snag it because I'll need one this next fall.

Pro Drummer Neighbor

So today after 10 years of living here, I found out that I've been living a block away from a drummer that played professionally for 25 years. Maybe I can convince him to give me lessons.
