Re: Jazz and Matched Grip

Funny you mention that ,Anthony. In 1980 I was at a Roy Burns clinic and during it he spoke and gave some advise on grip. He was making some points about either being fine with proper technique...

Re: Jazz and Matched Grip

Several years ago Jack DeJohnette switched to strictly matched grip; one of the finest jazz drummers one can find.

Re: Got hustled, any input apreciated

First of all, no, everyone does NOT like to watch people fail. Secondly, you state a couple of times that you were "hustled." How so? You bought a used kit from a private party on craigslist. Did the...

Re: drum fill friday

I only got 2 out of 5. The second fill killed me, because I knew that I recognized it, but choked on the title.

Re: Drums as an investment?

Bo, I don't want to hijack this thread but I'm interested in hearing what you meant regarding you can't stand 2 toms up, because you said it didn't regard comfort. Is it a matter of sound; wider...

Re: Drums as an investment?

I'm interested to see what some of our members who gather vintage kits have to say about this.

Re: Pedal setup - aka. how do people play this?

In that pic posted that led to the OP's question, the position of the hi-hat and pedal is what leaps out at me. To each his / her own, but that just looks uncomfortable to me.
