Re: Port on batter side kick head?

the only reason I would do it if for a mic. now I know you can get a good sound without a mic being inside the kick drum. but I have never really experimented with it. I know in the studio we did 2...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyNzpejtYBw

Re: "Recommend Me A Kit" Threads

I think it can also be a matter of multiple products meeting your criteria. I know I want a 5 piece birch set up with a 20" kick. sure that narrows it down but there are tons of kits for that...

Re: "Recommend Me A Kit" Threads

And I have strongly considered that as well. maybe (if you know) you could pm me what the honest difference would be between that and say a more expensive kit. I have considered the stage custom, but...

Re: "Recommend Me A Kit" Threads

Understood. But once again I never said "what should I buy", I said "recommend me a kit", so that I may go and research. I really could care less whether someone else likes it or not. just because...

Re: "Recommend Me A Kit" Threads

I'm assuming this has something to do with my thread. The reason I personally ask is maybe I haven't found the option for me. For example, in my thread, someone recommended the Premier Genista, which...

Recommend me a new kit!

I've always had intermediate level kits and I'd like to finally step up to something a little better. I'm looking to spend maybe $1500 max. I'd prefer birch and probably a smaller sized kick (like a...

Trying to decide if a 24" kick is for me

Right now I'm playing on a 24" kick and I've always played a 22". I really like the sound, but I immediately noticed (and it makes sense) that it just plays totally differently. On my 22, then i hit...

The ole tom in the snare stand discussion.

I recently started doing this and its very odd because I set the drum in the snare stand, I dont tighten it whatsoever, and the resonance is nonexistent. I kept thinking it was my tuning but i get my...
