Re: Gavin Harrison here!

I'm hoping my counting skills are getting better and it alternates between 8/8 and 9/8. But I'm probably wrong!

Re: Gavin Harrison here!

Hey Gavin

I read it in a forum post on another website that was talking about an "supposed" interview with Steven Wilson how he "supposedly" didn't like Prog music and how he hated that his...

Re: Gavin Harrison here!

Hey Gavin

I recently read that Modern Drummer had asked you to take part on their up coming Prog issue and that you had turned them down as you "don't like the genre". I have also read quotes from...

Re: Gavin Harrison here!

Hey Gavin

I was also wondering if you guys have, or have been planning to record (video/audio) any shows on this tour? I for one would love another PT DVD.

cheers
Daniel

Re: Gavin Harrison here!

I guess the only way would be to get an opening slot on a major tour. Every major tour comes through this way and a lot of them do multiple dates. There are tons of shows in the smaller venues. I'm...

Re: What annoys you on peoples drum sets?

D U S T ! ! ! I hate dust on drums. Especially nice drums. It's disrespectful to your gear.

Re: Drum Workshop Worth The Cash?

How would a set of Sonor SQ2 drums stack up against a set of DW's? Two of the most expensive drums out there. Which is better?

Re: Gavin Harrison here!

Hey thanks Derek. It's kinda frustrating when you can order a cd from overseas for cheaper than you can buy it at your local record store. Oh well. Anyway thanks for the info!

Ciao

Re: Gavin Harrison here!

Hey Gavin

I was wondering what the reasoning behind FOABP not being available through PT's website/burning shed? I read that you guys were asking fans to buy the album from local record stores,...

Re: Gavin Harrison here!

Awesome, thank you very much. I was close but couldn't put it together. I said it before but man you could fill a whole DVD with just fill ideas. Your "Visions" dvd has been HUGE for me mostly in...

Re: Gavin Harrison here!

Hey Gavin

I was wondering if there are any transcription books of your stuff with PT. Probably not I'm guessing. It sure would be a cool thing to have though. All this talk about the main groove...

Re: Vinnie Colaiuta

Well I just had been listening to Megadeth - The System Has Failed and I have to say that although I though a lot of the songs were kind of lame the drumming was unreal and beautiful all at once. So...

Re: Gretsch Catalina Maple or Pearl Export?

I had a pearl export for way too long and I hated them. The only reason I even had them is because I got such a good deal on them that I couldn't say no. I got the Catalina maple a month or so ago...

Re: music theory: a necessity for drummers

I have been thinking quite a bit about taking some music theory classes, mostly out of just wanting to know as much as possible. I can't see how it could possibly get in the way of anything. It can...

Re: Gavin Harrison here!

I didn't ask him for his opinion on Chris Maitland, I was sticking up for him as I think he was awesome with PT. I really didn't expect an answer about why Chris left the band, call it curiousity!

Re: Gavin Harrison here!

Ummmm I'm thinking that unless you can play anywhere near as good as Chris Maitland did for PT then maybe you shouldn't say he was "asleep at the wheel". I personally think his drumming was excellent...

Re: Vinnie Colauita

I have looked at his web page, but thats not what I meant. Vinnie's playing (from my perspective) is razzle-dazzle and flash even when he is laying back to play for the song. Am I saying that it is...

Well I hope you weren't refering to me, and someone else said that to regarding one of my comments. I though a few of his comments were "generalizations" and ya someone in his shoes would probably...

Re: Gavin Harrison here!

Hey Gavin

What would be really cool is (if PT does another Live DVD) if in the special features there was a drum cam feature where the camera stays on you playing some tracks. I have a few DVDs...

Re: Gavin Harrison here!

Hey Gavin
