I believe the drum PEAVEY compared their design to on the NCPA's vibrometer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufPf2XgPoWw) was a YAMAHA 900 series.

Pretty common prob most drummer overlook is the HH cup, the post wears out causing misalignment of the bottom cymbal. Replace cup and make sure you use a new felt (if you use felts).

Get over there with cash if they're in good shape! The 501 series are wrapped (blk, wht, red), 1000 paint/lacquer. PEAVEY and ARBITER design drums didn't really catch on for some reason.

Felt strips can feeble compared to a pillow, and when you want to use a pillow its best to secure it for consistency. Options are adhesives, or wire to lug screws. Adhesive tapes are inconsistent...

If you have a full reso head, no port, securing a muffling/dampening device is recommended, as after cartage the object is out of position.
