Re: How LOUD were the classic rock bands??

Spinal Tap was one of England's loudest bands. I got to fill in for their drummer during the Shark Sandwich tour, after he died in a bizarre gardening accident.

Re: John Bonham Snare on the bay

Not enough documentation IMO, especially for that kind of money. I would throw money at something documented and without a doubt, real. Take the Bennett's drum studio collection for example.

Re: What would you appraise my kit for?

Definitely part it out. That will save trouble of shipping all those pieces at once and you'll get more money. It will take some time though.

If you're comfortable with it, list all items on both...

Re: sixteenths on hats?

I assumed OP was talking about faster 16th notes, but good call - TS is a good example of mainly non-accented 16ths on the hats.

Re: sixteenths on hats?

Not sure how you can keep up one handed, smooth 16ths at a decent tempo. I use RLRL. Fast 8th notes with no accents a la Ramones I use one hand.

Re: Talking salespeople down in price

You mentioned buying a car. Most folks now are shopping for price via Internet so going away are the days of visiting multiple dealerships for the same car and haggling for prices. The resale,...

Re: Grip Change Imposed UGH

It will take a little while to get used to, but keep at it. The American grip is a hybrid so this will only help you IMO.

What your instructors present is either their preference or what the...

Re: Converting programmed drum parts to acoustic kit

First, I love her vocals.

Smaller, tighter drums and choked cymbals (or stacks) might get you part of the way, engineering/mixing magic for the rest. I couldn't imagine recording that material,...

Re: Blushda fill - drum lesson

I could hear your voice fine...on a Kindle. Could definitely be louder to provide full clarity. Otherwise, good stuff.

Re: Hahahahahahahaha :)

Yea, at first I thought it was a "shreds" type of video. I get what he was going for but if you listen to the actual recording it doesn't require that much gusto.

Re: Ludwig Stainless Steel Kit for sale?

Always on eBay. You just missed out on a sweet Octa-plus kit, but there's always pieces that you can get separately.

Re: Won Used Ludwig Classics off ebay

I thought the re-release of those wraps came on the Element drums but those don't appear to be them - old spurs, badges, and no rims mounts. That tom mount also looks identical to my Rockers model,...

Re: Cover Band Drummists - How accurate are you?

Like Billy Ray mentioned I also keep the more recognizable fills and breaks but pull a Cartman most of the time. Sometimes I dislike the original part or sound so it gets changed.

/screw you...

Re: Ludwig Piccolo Snare - Need A Manufacture Date

Interstate music still has one their site similar to his pictures. So you're saying Ludwig used the black and white badges in 2012?
