Re: Gavin Harrison here!

Hey Gavin!

Loved your performance on Southside Festival. You definetely had the greatest drum sound of the weekend. I only spotted one single rythmic illusion but therefore it was a real...

Re: Pearl Target Series

Well they're just very very low line drums. Like PDP drums don't have the quality of DW drums, although they're sometimes advertised as if they had, a Pearl Target kit doesn't really have Pearl...

Thx for the quick answer. There are lots of great bands there, but it's already worth it for Kings of Leon, Queens of the Stone Age and of course Porcupine Tree.

Re: Gavin Harrison here!

Hey Gavin,

is it true that Porcupine Tree will play at the Southside-Festival in Germany? That would be a dream coming true. I totally love your work! I can't find any more words that describe how...

Re: THE BIG KITS VS SMALL KITS DEBATE

I made a really small kit out of my big kit (14' tom as the bass + 8' Tom, Snare and Hi-Hat) and it was a lot of fun to play plus It really inspired me to some simple yet effective fills. I moved...

Re: Most Under-rated Drummers

Nathan Followill, the drummer of "Kings of Leon". Listen to tracks like "Taper Jean Girl", his drumming is so simple sometimes, at one part he just plays the bell of the ride on the offbeat and...

Re: THE Black Panther thread! for all BP snare fans and owners....

This one looks like a great deal.

I love the looks and it might be perfect as a secondary snare but I wouldn't buy anything I...

Re: Gavin Harrison here!

Hey, no hair related discriminations while I'm around.

Still, a great band and great playing you got there. A German drum magazine had a noted out version of "Sound of Muzak" and I'm still...

Re: Gavin Harrison here!

Hey Gavin, I'm a big fan of yours, you're amazing. I feel so bad that I couldn't manage to see PT when you where in Frankfurt. I hope you liked it here and will come back someday soon.

Re: Playing with shoes on...

My playing doesn't get any better if I'm not wearing shoes, at least that's what I think, so I don't see a real problem in playing with shoes. Of course it's a bit harder to have the right feel for...

Re: Double Bass help

I think problems like these are normal when you start learning double bass. Remember when you started playing drums, your right foot didn't move as perfect as nowadays. It's all training. The best...

Re: Do u think it helps playing double bass...

Yes, a pretty good way to train your left foot is to play the patterns you would usually play with your right foot on a single pedal, with your left foot. Start slowly to make sure play exactly...

Re: THE DRUMMING DICTIONARY.

An Accent is mainly a louder played note so you hear it more than the others. You could probably produce accents with other methods as well.

@ nhzoso

When you use dotted notes you don't need to...

Re: Another unreal Buddy Rich solo!

Wow that's exactly what I thought but I've been unsure if I'm just ignorant and don't see the big cool concept behind these solos. Of course they're technically great but especially if you don't have...
