It might be silly but what the hell it is fun and that is all that matters.

Re: Does adding this Tom make sense?

I have always had a 13 in tom. Kit #1 has 12, 13, 16, 18 with 22 bd. Kit 2 has 13, 14, 16, 18 with 24 bd. I just never saw any reason for 8 or 10 toms. More like bongos to me. LMFAO! So to answer...

Re: Moving on

Don't really have any advise for you other than just end it quick. Will be interested to hear how it goes. Most times we don't really get fired we just don't get invited to the next gig.

Re: Trouble finding musicians

Keep your day job. Things will improve with a bit of time. Much better to make enough to support your music than to be a starving artist.

Re: Gretsch Drummers - what's the best color/finish?

First kit I ever had was a Gretsch in Blue Sparkle. I still think it is the coolest.

Re: Has anyone started playing out after turning 50 years old?

I stopped playing back in 1972 then picked it back up in 2012 at age 60. Now playing and having the time of my life.

Re: Ok, how many of you have "unsuspended" your floor toms?

I have never hung a floor tom. Do they kick much?

Re: Should I Quit Band Due to Constant Critiques By Singer?

So okay let me see if I have this correct. You put in your time and energy into starting this band. You went out and recruited the other players in the band. You set up rehearsals etc... spent your...

Re: 12" or 14"

I too do not care much for toms under 12 inches. My new kit has a 13 & 14 MT. I like the kit you referenced. Looks good.

Re: New Kit or Expand Existing Kit: Gretsch

I think I would look at the Pearl Decade Maple 3 piece kit in 24/16/13 plus you can expand that kit with a 18 floor tom and either a 12 or 14 inch ride tom. Plus you would still be under the cost of...

Re: 24x14 vs 22x16 - Can't Decide!

I have both a 22 and a 24. Hard to go wrong with either but I like my 24 much better.

Re: Yamaha Tour Custom vs Ludwig Neusonic

Might want to look into a Pearl Decade Maple kit. Reasonable price and they sound good. Just remember this advice is worth what you paid for it. Good luck with your endeavors.

Re: Dealing with a controlling bandmate.

Cut your losses lad. Like many here have said life is to short for that kind of drama. Send your money on a cause you are really into. Leave and stay active the right thing will come along for you....

Re: Round vs. Saddle throne?

I have had this seat since 2012 and it has been a good one. I like the round ones better but then I am old and set in my ways. :)

Re: Just quit a band on Christmas Day

Hey not the worst thing you could have done. It was a decision you made and at least you told them instead of just not showing up. Good job lad.

Why not just leave them as they are an have a nice Frankenstein kit. Or you could wrap them in blue sparkle. :)
