Re: Factory tuning on DW drums...

Oh man, I better keep watch over my back. Changing the heads on DW's sounds worse than removing that tag off a pillow.

Re: Don't Worry, It's coming...

Those Tama's look sweet.
I'm sure I'll get flamed for this one, but I liked the sound of those new Superstars much better than the SCP's I owned. The Super's seemd to have better punch. Even when...

Re: PDP Tom Mounts?

To band it's not a wrapped set, you could get a scrap piece of matching wrap from one of the many drum wrap places online, cut a proper sized rectangle and double stick tape (glass tac would be...

Re: Tuning the kick/bass drum

To get a "boom" try tuning the batter and reso head to the same (or close) note/pitch. Not to low though or it will not resonate.
When you do hit the bass drum remember not to leave the beater into...

Re: 20" basses out of style?

Wavelegntth it the nail on the head, I was talking about the Trixons. The North drums do more of a "cornucopia" thing.

Re: 20" basses out of style?

In the 90's most kit's had 20's. At the guitar centers, and such. Same in the catalogs. kinda like the whole 12,13,16 to 10,12,14 thing during that time. Now you have kits with 13 and 15 toms. Crazy...

Re: Drum Workshop

The "workshop" series replaced the Collarlock series..in the end they became PDP. I would say just save a bit longer for a used DW collectors series kit.

When I get...

Re: big bass drums

It the front head ported? If it's not you may want to give that a try, it will help cut down on the beater "rebound".
