Buddy Rich did a solo with nothing but the bass drum that sounded like he was using a double-bass pedal when in actuality he was using one foot...and without a spring!

I've had someone do that to me years ago. I took it off and told them straight up, I'll get them kicked out or fired if they touch my set again. You just have to be brutally honest. Play accordingly...

I agree...leave that group. Anybody that would say something like that (notice I didn't say musician, because a true musician would say that) doesn't need to be in a group at all until they learn...

Let's just say that if Buddy Rich didn't exist, you wouldn't hear alot of the things you hear on drums today. He did alot for this group of musicians

As a drummer, bassist, guitarist, pianist and producer, I can say the main reason other musicians don't appreciate drummers is because it doesn't require the use of melodies...it's pretty much all...
