Re: Balance point for playing heel up...

Your core has to get stronger.

I now play with mostly my whole foot , doing the toe after when it is a double , gives me more support.

Re: Need Help with New Kit - From the Ground Up

I would go with your choice but all used. There are plenty of used instruments on craigslist and eBay. 1/2 price means twice more stuff for the same amount of $$$$$

Re: Always out of breath, need to get my stamina up somehow.

I ride a bike with some A- guys (a little faster then me). 100-150 miles a week.

Get dropped but still keep up. Does wonders for stamina ( it also improved my double bass speed tremendously ).

Re: Refining / Finishing a groove?

Re: Metronome

I use tempo advance by frozenape on my iphone. In your case (example you gave) set it at 22/4 and put accents so it gives 6+6+5+5.

Re: playing less and keeping time

The key to the linear stuff is to keep the pulse . Doing groups of 4 (RLRL) then groups of 3 (KRL) 4 (KKRL) ,etc. While focusing on the pulse. Some kick , snares , accents will end up in weird places...

Re: playing less and keeping time

My best guess would be "linear playing" with a click.
You won't have any repetition with one limb doing thst. Start slow and go from there.

Re: My 1st post: Help with Ludwig Snare.

Nice buy !!!! I noticed you have a couple of strands missing on the snares. Try to remove the opposite strands (on the other side) to make it even.

Re: Taking drums to Guitar Center for cash

You should "sell that item on eBay " for 3 times the price you want , have a friend or your wife buy it , not pay , relist it again for even more . Do that 3 times .

Then go to GC, they'll do...
