Up for sale is a 2013 Gretsch USA Custom Round Badge drum kit. Sizes are 22/12/14/16. Finish is Satin Millennium Maple.

Specs:
22" BD virgin with vintage disappearing spurs and t-rods
16" floor...

yeah i know it's a weird question. just wanted to get some opinions, and thank you all for the contributions! i think i'll just try both and see which one the band/sound guy likes more.

i also didn't ask which would be quieter...not concerned about my playing volume. more concerned about which drum you guys think would sound better mic'd in a small room.

playing a very small room and the kit will be mic'd. not sure which snare would be best to use...we play classic rock. i usually don't muffle either drum. i know its kind of a ridiculous question,...

I play country rock as well and use an Ambassador X. Maxwell Drums highly recommended it, if that means anything. it's directly in the middle of an ambassador and an emperor.

i also play in a twangy americana band! i use a gretsch usa kit with 12x8 and 14x14. i had a 16x16 originally but replaced it with a 14x14.

It's not an official catalog finish...Maxwell's had a similar Gretsch kit set up in one of their rooms, and when I asked about it, I was told that it was a specially made kit for Charlie, as a gift....

really like the diecast. my toms sound great and have just the amount of resonance that i prefer with no weird overtones; the sound is very focused and warm. i don't foresee ever using any moongels...
