Anyone got any experience with the gibraltar liquid drive stands? Can't imagine they will be that good considering they are so cheap

Will give the offset thing a go. LOL on the spinners idea haha.
I cant swap the hoops because it's a fade so would look odd with the colours the wrong way round lol. Might give it a go at some point...

Well I did originally think that as well but like I say it won't budge by hand and crank the head much more and it starts to sound "boingy" and too high pitched.

Thanks for the recommendation- they are similarly priced to the eliminator. Will have to check them out if they have one in the store tomorrow

My kit is mixed woods- birch rack toms with maple floors and maple bass.

I don't think you'd notice a major difference but there is some- birch cuts slightly more whereas maple is slightly warmer....

I use something similar to this- with my 10" tom mounted off, a crash and a splash all from the 3 way clamp ;)

Yeah that's what I went with in the end- pretty standard really just getting the right compromise between not covering too much of the tom/ not being too far away like you say

sounds like you just prefer the sound of the smaller drums- they will certainly give you quicke "feedback" than bigger drums.
I played a gig on a house kit with a 24" kick, 20" floor tom and 14"...
