Re: Be careful of your gator cases!

This is why I am not a fan of hard cases. Durable soft bags are the best way to go.

Gator are too expensive for what they are anyway. I've had their soft bags though, and they weren't too bad...

Re: Louder snare drum

+1 I vented my old ddrum snare and it was way loud.

However, If you want volume, look into a metal snare. My Panther is the loudest snare I've heard. 3mm seamless steel. I'm telling you, it's a...

Re: bearing edge lubrication?

Oh good. So it's not just me. With the way drumheads are manufactured these days, I don't think it's an issue anymore.

Re: SJC CUSTOM DRUMS - ORDER IN!

Building you own drums... Not for me. I know you can make them yourself for less, but I'd rather have them made by professionals, and spread the SJC name!

Not sure about the diablo. The Dios and...

Re: Buying a new snare.. need advice :)

Buy anything with the Black Panther badge on it. You will not be disappointed. Check out the Blade... Might be best suited to the genres you mentioned.

Re: bearing edge lubrication?

Do drums come out of the factory with waxed bearing edges? None of my previous drum kits have had this (maybe because they aren't "high end kits") - But has never really occured to me... I am with...

Re: DDRUM DIOS ASH

Don't get me started on DDrum. There has been a big rant about this already, with DDrum changing manufacturers - The quality went downhill along with the quality control! search "DO NOT BUY FROM 23RD...

Re: Is It Legal To Play Drums In The Middle Of The Night?

+1 - Work with your neighbours. If you tell them that you will be playing your drums between certain times, they will respect you a lot more. We got a few noise complaints because our band practices...

Re: Is ddrum really as bad as people say?

Re: Is ddrum really as bad as people say?

I have been using DDrum for 6-7 years now, and had 3 kits from them. My first was the Diablo Punx - Yeah they say it is "9-ply mahogany" but in reality, only 1 ply would have been mahogany. It was a...
