Re: THE DRUM MODIFICATION THREAD.

Where can you send your snare away to get it rechromed. I have a old ludwig chrome snare and the chrome is peeling a bit. Can it be fixed? And where? Please help.

Re: Chad Smith

Chad Smith is one drummer that I would love to emulate the most. His style and feel surpasses so many modern drummers. He's amazing.

Re: Bare Feet, Socks or Shoes?

I use socks. Even at gigs I take off my shoe when I sit down at my kit. I don't have smelly feet or anything so no one minds. Plus, you can't see my feet behind the kick. As for why, well, I practice...

Re: THE DRUMMING DICTIONARY.

Some more on rimshots.

PING SHOT
A rimshot played in such a way that only the top few inches of the stick strike the drum. When played correctly it produces a 'ping' sound.

Re: Martin Lopez

I love Opeth. As for Lopez? They may as well call the band Lopez, he's a great drummer. I love everything about the way they play. Martin Lopez can play it all fast, slow, heavy, tasteful,...

Re: THE DOUBLE BASS TECHNIQUE THREAD

If your leg hurts that much then despite how much you wanna be in that band I'd say wait until it doesn't hurt to play. If its just regular pain from being tired then you just need practice. Also,...

Re: THE DOUBLE BASS TECHNIQUE THREAD

I've been playing double bass for around two years now and I've gotten really fast. I mean as fast as my hands. All I did was play everything I play with my hands to build speed with my feet. I play...

Re: Dave Grohl

The thing about Dave Grohl is that he played in a grunge rock band. Grunge rock is a simple style that requires simple beats and fills. He was a great grunge drummer in Nirvana (one of my favorite...

Re: Chad Smith

I love Chad Smith. He is my favorite drummer of all time. I've never heard him overplay a song. He sits right in the pocket every time, without fail. He doesn't show off during albums. I respect...

Re: THE DRUM MODIFICATION THREAD.

I have an old Slingerland set that although it looks rather pathetic, sounds amazing. I want to put artwork on it instead of the rusted shells it now has. From reading this thread I've picked up some...

Re: STICK TWIRLING AND SHOWMANSHIP TECHNIQUE.

I was reading this thread and just wanted to add my two cents. I can do twirls, tosses, and all sorts of tricks while playing including the Jeff Queen "walking the dog" and backsticking. While I...
