Re: Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute Snare

If that does not work out, try reso at 78 and batter at 85.

Whence I started going against this forum's current, I found what worked for me.

Crank the batter !

Re: Favorite high end drum kit- model and brand?

I don't know for you guys down south, but in my parts the Ludwig classic maples are priced in the same ballpark as the amh. Just saw a natural maple go by on yamaha's fb page, pretty freakin sweet !

Re: 10 up, 12, 14 down

Well 1up 2 down is what it is, no matter which size toms are used. With clear emps, the 10 and 12 amh can go low enough for you to pull it off easily.

The 4 pcs setup is what works for me, and...

Re: My new Yamaha Hybrid Maple.

Quick tuning tip with the hook lugs if anyone is interested : instead of finger tightening, which can be tricky albeit counter-intuitive at first with the hook lugs, I forego that part and instead...

Re: My new Yamaha Hybrid Maple.

What are the sizes ?

I got a great deal on the same finish in 22-10-12-16, but I do use the 10" often (scuffs on the bd hoop where the pedal attaches got me a fair discount).

I tuned them high...

Re: Need some help choosing a snare.

No actually pretty mid-range.

I noticed most dunnett snares are shipped tensionned that way, so I took a drum dial and the measures often turn out to be about 5-10 more on top over bottom.

I...

Re: Need some help choosing a snare.

If I may, go against the grain and tighten the batter side a tad more than the reso side.

It makes things easier on the ears, no weird upward pitch bend and eliminates unwanted overtones.

I...

Re: 5 Inch Deep Snares

My new yamaha AMH 6" snare blows my previously trusted lm400k out of the water in every department, including pop, crack, rim shots and sensitivity.

If I work on tuning, it can be crispier and a...

Re: Noble and Cooley 3pc Walnut

I love N&C, through and through.

Only temperament to this is I would put the tom in a snare basket and go without the tom mount for purely aesthetics reasons. Am I the only one who thinks that...

Re: Inde vs C&C

The only kit I ever regretted selling was a c&c player date 2.

It was the nicest, roundest, liveliest, most easily tunable drum kit out there. 20-12-14 could do it all.

Traded it in for a...

If no answer here, try the "yamaha drummers" facebook page.

Re: 4-up, 2-down question

Nice set up, man I would love to have an eternal run down those toms !

I often find myself jealous of setups like these, and have often attempted the 2-up thing but it never lasted long...

Finally got my AHM snare drum at a major discount price !

2-year wait, showed up un reverb and went for the kill.

Silver sparkle. It should blend nicely with the other fellas in the barn.

We do not seem to have gotten the result of the test.

That would be surprising coming from yamaha.

Hope everthing turns out ok.

That moment...

When your 8 year-old son finally gets involved in your playing.

The moment he gets youthfully excited and drops a bd beater on the bd hoop of your oh-so sweet favorite drum set.

That sound. ...
