Re: Gretsch Renown Maple vs PDP Concept Maple

the question on the difference in Euro's is yes. The Gretsch kit is a better kit. Gretsch is Gretsch, not DW lite

Re: can the quality of your throne affect your playing????

I'm thinking just the opposite on the twisting back theory. I would rather my seat turn a bit rather than me stretching my lower back to reach a drum or cymbal. This keeps your back over your hips...

Re: Filling in badge holes on lacquered drums

Gentlemen please. The holes are 3mm. Nuts and bolts? They are less than 1/8 the inch. I would just leave them alone

Re: Filling in badge holes on lacquered drums

Carpenters putty. drys whitish , then a small black or brown marker. They are too small to matter

Re: New DW Kit, worth it?

Re: Staining drum heads with coffee

I think they are plastic and would not adhere at all. I may be wrong but most heads are pretty water repellant

Re: Good deal?

Here is what I'm thinking. First, those are big drums. Big drums to me usually means big rock sound so someone was probably really banging on them. I would look them over very carfefully for any...

Re: New DW Kit, worth it?

No one can tell you how to handle your will power as far as the budget goes. Lord knows I struggle. The deal sounds good especially if the finish and sizes are what you want.
700.00 is a lot to...

Re: Best way to learn mathcore?

Two methods of teaching and learning are;

Whole - Part - Whole, and
Part - Whole- Part

As their names imply you learn to play the entire piece, then tear it apart, and work on the weak...

Re: Reinforcing rings

My unscientific, school of hard knocks education dealing with bearing edges is, that you would have to aim at a bearing edge with the tip of the stick to get close to the edge under or near the rim. ...

Re: YouTube for the working drummer?

What to put up? Your best stuff, and variety. Will it help? Didn't hurt Justin Beiber although he turned out to be an egotistical punk.

Re: Reinforcing rings

I think a better cheaper way to protect drum edges is with S-Hoops and not re-rings. Keeps one from pounding daylights out of the bearing egdes. Especially the guys that use rim shots on every...

Re: Hybrid drummers can I have your attention please?

It would have been nice to have a definition of Hybrid before the survey. Those Monkey surveys are so not close to being scientic. You would do better standing outside of a music store and asking...

since you said timless, some of the drum companies aren't old enough to have timeless finishes, DW for one, but I sure they have Marine Pearl by another name, Piano Black, White, Blue Sparkle, Yellow...

Re: Ludwig's new Signet 105 drum line!

I stand corrected. But I will say if that is the case then this is one entry level kit that I would buy.

p.s. I emailed the magazine or web site to see where they picked up the term entry level.

Re: Crazy? (looking for an opinion or two...)

Maybe his finances dictate that he sell the Rogers to afford the Ludwigs? It happens. I would like to buy a different set but cannot until I sell the Renowns.
